Does this player have one?

thanks.

i wish i could give you a definitive answer, as i dont own one i cant say, it states in the tech specs that the vibez has a fully parametric equalizer, well normally parametric equalizers have 2 modes, amongst the other options, stereo l-r and a sliding scale between l and r.

but reason i replied was that i very recently, in the last week or so have discovered something about my own hearing, i was listening to my iriver ihp140 with rockbox and some flac files, and was playing about with the balance control in rockbox, and noticed that for me, my left ear was getting more of the signal than my right when at 0% - dead in the middle of l-r, after much fine tuning with different songs, i find out that purely based on what my ears were telling me, the 'center ground' for me, the sweet spot where my brain told me it was symetrically balanced in stereo was at -8% in the rockbox value. thus giving my left ear back its deserved portion of the soundstage, so all this time, forever - i can only assume i have been listening to music askew, always off center, not true symetrical stereo, minor as this is in the grand scheme of things, i was pretty shocked.

suffice to say, i have rockbox to thank for highlighting this very small, but worthy of correcting impediment.

and now i get to listen to all my music library again with a new pair of ears!!!!

p.s. i am sure a vibez owner will be good enough to give us an answer on this...

I can't find balance control from my Vibez.

I have now searched a .pdf of the manual and can't find it either. Maybe I should look at something else like the iAudio 7, which does, but I was quite keen on that 12GB storage which seemed ideal for me at the price...

My impediment is such that, when I sleep on my good ear, I can't hear my kids at night from my bad ear - so every cloud has a silver lining.

Another silver lining is that the i7 will be shipping in a tasty 16gb flavour, but no details on US/EU price have been released yet.

You could go for a Cowon D2 and stick in a 8gb SDHC card with the built in 4gb memory but that might not be the most cost effective option at about 230 US dollars in total.

The 16GB will be too pricey for me. 230 US dollars (~£115) would be great if it wasn't for the strange conversion rate we get here in the UK on all sorts of goods!

I will be in the US next month. Anyone know a good place to shop in Chicago?

Ah you're in the UK, so I don't really have to convert prices, I'm in Ireland you see, and while we use the Euro I know most Sterling prices.... So what's your budget in pounds and how do you feel about ordering online, both at home and internationally?

My thread has wondered off topic slightly, but...

I am willing to stretch to £150 if I can get some decent headphones within that budget. Would prefer 8GB or more. Good SQ and balance control (!)

I'm very happy ordering online, but ordering internationally I'm not sure about warranty and import duty.
