Probably a hard question to ask but I'll ask anyway.

Any good ones.
I'm not quite the DIY'er type of person so yeah.
Just keeping my options open.
budget probably around <$US150.

I don't mind 3.5mm or 6.5mm.

I have the Grado one. It's relatively inexpensive ($40) but it's quite well built and transparent (to my ears) in my system. I'd recommend going for that...not really worth it for something more expensive in my opinion.

Does it have to be transparent? What if it's just a little fuzzy around the edges but will keep trying?

On a serious note though, you do realize that in unbalanced extension cables, you are combining the Left/Right grounds at the connector and then running them together through the extension all the way to the amplifier. This is the perfect recipe for cross-talk.

You'd need a balanced extension to avoid this.

If you want a cable that will not change the sound from your headphones, use the same cable as installed on your headphones, that's obvious.
