Transcoding FLAC to PS3 Lossless?

I looked around online and can't seem to find a definite answer.
 
I am using the PS3 media server over Wifi to my PS3 with FLAC files. Is the transcoding turning the FLAC files to something less than a lossless output? My Onkyo receiver works fine with the FLAC files over Wifi but the interface is a bit slow compared to the PS3.

I'm not having a problem playing FLAC files, the PS3 Media Server works great for most if not all Audio and Video files. What I am trying to figure out is when the computer Transcodes the FLAC files, (before it goes to the PS3) am I still hearing the original lossless file or has it been compressed or altered in anyway.
