i know this is probably the most reposted on thsi forum considering all the newbies cant decide between which one to get. yes, ive read quite a few threads comparing the 2.

so, shures have more bass, etymotics have more clarity and less bass.

now, i just cant decide which one i want (do i want clear highs or more bass). ive already had the shure E2Gs (lost them).

anyone that listens to mainly EDM have any input?

Meh, don't get the E2g/c's. They have bloated, muddy bass. Get the Ety sound. If you're looking into getting the ER-6i's, make sure that you first check out the iM716's made by Altec Lansing (partnered with Etymotic), which are modeled after the ER-4's, the bigger brother to the ER-6i's. Sonically (SQ-wise), the iM716's are better than the ER-6i's. They were on Amazon for $63; however, now they are $111. The iM616's are $44 on Amazon, and it's been said that they are still better than the ER-6i's.

+1, and the price of the im716 is back down to 70 with free shipping. For some reason the im716 isnt as well known as it should be atleast IMO, I see a lot of er6i and e2cs mentioned but im716s usually have to be suggested.

back to $70? You mean on Amazon, or some other store? I just looked, and they're >$100 on Amazon.

...and now I want these things because I'm bored w/ my er-6i's.

Yea, I agree. How come the iM716's almost always have to be suggested? With a price tag of $200 MSRP, the iM716's are unbeatable at $70 on Amazon.
