Be sure to try different tubes - the stock I find a little too warm in the mids overall - still sound good though.

I emailed sasha at trafomatic he said that you can leave the amp on 24/7. I've really noticed that this really sounds at its peak after 2 hours like a lot of tube amps. But after 200 hours of burn in the amp really opens up. But even at the beginning you can appreciate how dynamic and transparent the amp is with a nice touch of holographic warmth but not your lush midrange tube sound like my wa5le.

I agree, it is fantastic with HD800!!!
I can't believe... if it sounds better after burn-in it will be my Nirvana Headamp
I'm very happy!!!

I like my amp but one thing that sucks is not getting an email response back from Trafomatic when I have questions about the HEAD 2. 
 
I don't know why they don't respond.
