It would be close second. It's partly the tonality of Rocco BA works well when you marry them together.

Even if you're just going by your ear, it would be a good idea to invest in a voltage meter that would allow you to do precise volume matching.

I have a multimeter, though I'm not that critical when it comes to telling me what my ears like. The quest for science wasn't in high priority.
  4. svyr
does it have horrible firmware and cost a fortune?
  5. H20Fidelity Contributor

Yes. but it makes up for it with 80 hour run times.

is there a to scale photo vs h300? are the dimensions 25x20x15cm ? (a brick?)
  7. H20Fidelity Contributor

    It is: 8cm long / 5cm wide / 2cm thick. Quite small.

If I didn't own Rocco (as I believe it's very much a case of synergy here) the Studio V 3rd Anv would be a player to use with H-300. I tried Sony NWZ-F806, H-300 didn't exactly sound stable, I lost a fair amount of air the sound become a little peaky in areas, the Rocco for some reason makes them smooth and coherent in the mid range, light weight in the mids (thin) but high in clarity, separation and stage width. I can say though for anyone who wanted to use H-300 with Studio V 3rd Anv hiss levels are next to none, basically silent, so that's a great bonus. DX50 is a decent pairing but again it just doesn't have the staging and air the Rocco gives me.

For anyone in Melbourne, last I checked Billy at Noisy Motel had a Rocco in stock, if you have H-300 and pop in for a visit give it a try.

I also believe headphonic have some Rocco BA stock left for about $179.00 (it is the same dimensions as Studio V but thinner.

Sorry but if you are talking about Rocco I want ask
where I could buy the Rocco BA and how his sound with dunu dnk compared to dx50 with dnk?
or you mean its great only with h-300
  12. H20Fidelity Contributor

Rocco BA sounds good with Dunu DN-1000 too, but you stick with DX50 as we spoke about in the Dunu thread. :) Reading my synergy matching with H-300 will just cause more confusion. As for buying a Rocco they have been discontinued but stock can be found some places still.

H300 UPDATE: I've confirmed it guys... after numerous tip rolling I ended up with the Comply TSX200. At first I was happy that it totally removed the peak for me but later realised that its just too smooth for my liking. It sounded pretty close to what I'd describe as a super refined Sony MH1!
I decided to cut the filter off from the Comply TSX200 to make it similar to Comply TS200 and alas! This now sounds like my dream IEM! Exactly how I wish my beloved H200 sounded like!
I've listened to full length albums without a hitch and only once did I hear something (a tambourine) sounding too emphasized. The H300 sounded like a gem all throughout!

So guys... I don't usually push suggestions but on this occasion I highly recommend the Comply TS200 tips for the H300. http://www.complyfoam.com/products/ts-200/
If you have a pair lying around like I did (its been set aside for over a year coz i didn't like how foam tips affect the overall sound) please take the time to try them on the H300.
    You won't regret it!
My review is coming up soon... Cheers!

how tightly do ts200 fit? I have a lot of t4,500 and they fit H300 well too o.O
  15. d marc0
The TS200 is a perfect fit. What I like about the 200 is it's shorter and it doesn't affect the airiness much... just the peak.
I tend to stay away from the 400's and 500's because they change the treble to much in my experience and I think it's also because of the shape of my ear canal.
The opening at the end is significantly reduced when they are inserted in my ears.
I know you were using them and still find the peak to much... I don't really have an explanation how the TS200 solved the peak for me.
Maybe I have high tolerance to sibilance?
Can you post a test track you usually use to test standard sibilance test? Don't choose your most sibilant song. Just the one that will exhibit sibilance with the H300 in particular.
