Got them nice and safe here today. Unfortunately, I can;t say I am a fan of them. Running them 158 on low gain from the DX90 (slightly louder than the DX50) the treble is a little piercing. It's tolerable, but not pleasant; it's much brighter than the DN-2000. The midrange has good clarity, but sounds a little unnatural with the upper mids being a little accentuated. The bass however, is absolutely wonderful, we have a DN-1000 beater here. The DN-1000 still has more impact, but the detail and layering of the H300's bass is awesome.

The soundstage is wide sometimes, but oddly, most of the time is is quite in your face. It has quite an aggressive presentation. Detail is in between the DN-1000 and DN-2000. Imaging is good, but I find them to be a little blurry at times.

I'm just not feeling the hype guys.... maybe this will change with some brain burn in. Right now, I'm not sure I like them more than the DN-1000. For me, the DN-2000 is the clear winner here. The bass is just epic though.

I will post more impressions towards the end of the week. Thanks Billy for posting them and H20Fidelity for making this tour possible.

Oh, and I like the idea of a detachable cable and I love the coloured cable, but I'm not a fan of the connector. It's a little bit and is not the best for over the ear wear.

Great first impression mate - do listen to it for a week or so, first time I heard it the treble hurts, then I adjusted after a while.

    Did you buy DX90?

Actually the O2 tames the upper mids a bit, which makes them sound a lot better. Now they are definitely better than the DN-1000, but not up to the DN-2000 level yet.

Oh, and nobody has mentioned this, but the channels are reversed lol. You have to put the left side of the cable into the right and vice versa for them to to sound right. I haven't tried the black cable yet though, so I can't comment on that.

"You put your right foot in. You take your right foot out. You put your right foot in. And you shake it all about"

    Black mic cable is ok.

So Lin, what you're trying to tell us, is that this is the IEM of the year, bar none. You are absolutely smitten.

H20Fidelity, I saw some of his comments on the Hippo VB, how do you compare the bass VB with the T-300?

    Thanks.

Hippo VB still has more (the most) quantity and similar extension, only Hippo VB bass is just massive overload of raw volume without much texture or clarity.

H-300 has much better detail and speed, so it sounds more controlled, tighter, faster, though probably only 65%-70% of Hippo VB quantity with 2 dot bass ports.

    Hippo VB = Feral Bass.

    H-300 = Controlled detail, clarity.
