I think I choose the worst time possible to magirate from Winamp over to Foobar 2000, with version 0.9 coming out and many of the plug ins and add-on's I've seen mentioned before not working, but anyway.

I'm guessing I'm a total noob right now. I cant get much of anything to go right in this program. I've managed to install the Columns UI, I can at least get my music library to show up now, but the information is jumbled all up, nothing is in an easy to spot place.

So here are a few things I'm wondering:

Is there an easy built in way to tag my music files? Adding artist, album, date, etc?

What's the most clear and useful tutorial to setting up Columns UI? Is there a compliation of premade setups I can download?

These are the only few I can think of off the top of my head. Finding a proper way to tag all my music would be a life saver right now. As of now albums show their dates all in different sections, some entire albums dont show the artist, some show the artist but no album. I'm not sure what I can do to fix all of this but go through and retag (I have a lot of free time on weekends, and I love organizing things, so this could be fun for me).

Any help or advice would be greatly appericated.

You jumped into Foobar at the wrong time. Just because 0.9 it out there is still a lot of work to be done. All the plug-ins have to be updated from 0.83 to 0.9. I would wait a week before you dive into it.

As for tagging I use http://www.mp3tag.de/en/ so you can work on that in the mean time.

There are some strings @ http://foobar.nub4life.net/columns/pafiledb.php but some might not work at this point.
