I think this guy is a Ryerson student that has sold tons of his amps on eBay.

This amp was discussed on amp board, mixed reviews as I recall, it ranked somewhere between CMoy and Mint in terms of sound quality. I'm not sure how well it would drive high Z phones if it only has 3V supply.

Looks interesting.

Pretty cheap, I can see a few of these amps up (from the same builder and seller) going at $46 with 1 day left.

Unless null elaborates his strange fear of this amp, I'm going to run a few searches and call it a real possibility to DIYing a MINT.

Actually, that little amp isn't that bad. I was cowering in fear because I didn't realize that, at the time, I could have gotten a CMOY for around the same price, and it would have ended up sounding much better.

For what's it worth, it is a decent little amp. It adds volume, which is all I basically need. BTW, I have Revision 1 (ver 1) of the amp, and people complained about distortion at low volumes, but get this...

IF YOU USE NIMH (RECHARGABLE) BATTERIES, THIS PROBLEM WILL NOT HAPPEN!!

Seriously, people complain about the jacks on the first revision, but its not the jacks. Gary even says it himself on his website. I noticed tons of distortion at low volumes when using Duracells. However as soon as I tried my Panasonic NIMHs there was nothing!

I guess this is why he ships them with NiMH now.
