Guess title is quite self explanatory, I am not able to choose between the two...ie. the Darkvoice 336i and Little Dot MKIII. I will be using external EMU soundcard as source, with HD650's. Listen to lots of rock, metal, prog and ambient/psychadelic music. I am a little bit of a bass head, and I like a wide soundstage as well.

I have read good reviews for both, havent been able to find a detailed review on the 336i with the 650's, although I do remember reading that they pair up well.
Same goes for MKIII as well, some nice reviews around, but I still dont have a good idea on how it goes with the 650.

MKIII works out slightly cheaper, but I like the way the 336i looks. So if it comes down to aesthetics and looks, I would pick the 336i.

But Soundwise, I would like some views on how they pair up with the 650's, first with stock tubes, and also some opinions on sound with modified tubes.

Ofcourse, if you feel there are any other tube amp options in the sub 300$ range which synergize well with the 650, please mention those as well. Please dont recommend that I put more money in and get a WA3 or the likes, I can shell out only 300-350 max, and that itself is slightly pushing it.

Thanks

Hmmm, that's a little strange as I seem to recall reading other comments regarding the Darkvoice 336 and Sennie HD600's in past threads. That's one of the deciding factors that led me to pull the trigger on one. Now, at the time I only had the HD600 and only months after getting the 336i did I manage to get a pair of the HD650's. They work with the Darkvoice just as well.

For the money, the Darkvoice is hard to beat, especially considering the tube rolling options open to you. It has a good "headstage" although please don't expect wide, wide open spaces per se. It punches above it's weight and price range which is quite amazing when you consider it's price of $320 US delivered ( last price I heard ). Good bass extension, but not as articulate as headamps in the > $500 US category, but certainly no slouch.
