You only want feedback from people that agree with him?
I like to gather information from all sources, people that I agree and disagree with.... it's the only form of true journalism that I know of. Absolutely need to guard against my own preconceptions...
100% this.

Re: DTR1, it has much more power than the stated measurements. I also use the shanling m5s to test out very sensitive IEMs since the OI and noise levels are very minimal.

My belief with sources is not about how much power it can output at 100%. It's about how well the circuitry is designed to drive various loads.

lol, those are low-fi daps, obviously you are wrong for not using a totl speaker amp to test your IEMs. Can you even call yourself a IEM impressionist if you are not using adequate source to test the gear? If you disagree with me, you must be wrong and there is something wrong with your dac or amp or ears.

Perhaps both :|

Are you saying Digital Audio Players don't have a bearing

I personally thought the IER-Z1R and M9 were very mediocre, no DAP could save either of them for me.
But Ii you are saying DIgital Audio Players have nothing to do with the sound coming out of an IEM, I would have to vehemently disagree with you there.
No sarcasm or displays of wit are needed to make my point.
To each his own.

oh no, I am totally on your side here, I personally think that source is very important to portable audio. As a matter of fact, I believe that source is more important than the IEM itself. That is why I had a 2.5mm to KSE connector made just for my Fearless Roland, because I believe only the KSE1500 electrostatic amp can drive the Roland's Sonion electrostatics drivers to its full potential. Also, the Sony IER-Z1R is an awful IEM, why would anyone buy it when you can get a Fearless Roland for half the price and twice the performance.

Yea, I agree. @toranku is trying to listen to IEMs using a glorified 1980s remote control. I don't know how any sound comes out of that thing to be honest. I think he needs dual mono poweramps and dedicated power station to run his IEMs to full potential.

Actually I was more inclined to be surprised that you were bothering with his impressions since you felt his impressions were flawed by his source ("His impressions, besides maybe a difference in preferences, are not very useful to me"). If that is the case then how can you correlate to your personal taste. That was it. Please don't read more into it than that - and I certainly apologize if somehow I gave a different impression.

Thank you for backing me up and expose this fake reviewer of IEMs. How dare he slander the name of Fearless, the finest chi-fi outside of china. I personally love your reviews, because you test all your IEMs with your lamborghini aventador sv, only the 6.5L V12 740HP lamborghini can drive the Fearless Roland w/o bottlenecking. I personally don't have $500,000 for a lambo, so I have to settle for a KSE amp, which is a FAR less adequate for the obviously flawless Fearless Roland.

@toranku why are you using a AC remote control to power your IEMs? ;)

Need air blast impressions pls.

You guys are like little children. I have never heard of this DAP till today, I have no point of reference on the gear he is using, and therefore cannot extrapolate any meaningful information from his impressions.
But hey, sorry I stepped into these tongue baths you people are giving Toranku, he is always right, how could I forget.

Add:I don't own the Roland, his impressions are polar opposites of quite a number of people on head-fi. I have however owned both the IER-Z1R and the M9, couldn't get them back into the box fast enough.

My 1st and last comment in this thread so I will make it good.

Been here for 5+ years and in all that time the only 2 people who's impressions consistently line up with mine ( that means sometimes not) is Crin and Toranku.
I respect the guys. I dislike something he likes but the Andro (Toranku) and RHA CL1 (Crin) were spot on in ways that are only gotten by good focus on hearing and good method of articulating it back in text form to be consumed by others.
Neither bombs into owner threads and tells them their choices suck. A common event on Head-Fi
Respect me and accept my imperfections please and do the same for others. Crin and Toranku in particular.

Toranku should at the very least get a competent DAP. His impressions, besides maybe a difference in preferences, are not very useful to me because of the equipment he uses.
