So its been a few weeks and that gave me alot of time to work with and see if i like this HIMD player. and first off its a great pice of equipment. it works great. SonicStage worked well. and it wasn't half bad to look at. then comes the problems i have with it. MP3 playback was horable. after some reading on minidisk.org i found that out. So i was forced to rip in Atrac3+ wich sounded very good. problem was that now im tied to use SS to playback my music on my computer.. i could use windows MP but i don't like that ether. over all i couldn't justify using it for mp3 protable music as its clearly not ment for that. as a recorder im sure its brillant. So you see me get all excited then i take it back. I do that some times.
so i settled on something totaly off the wall.
4g 20gig iPod. Costco for $239. so far so good. i like itunes, i like the way ipods work. im now looking forward to getting a portable amp and take advantage of the line out.
