hi, i have had my tomahawk for slightly more than a month now. on average i listen to it about 4 hours daily while traveling and working. that works out to be about 120 hours burn in since i got it.

the past few days when i listen to it it seems to have suddenly become more detail n wider soundstage.

question: is the improvement a sudden thing after a certain no. of hours of usage or progressive?

also... how long does it takes to fully burn in a tomahawk? and why so long?

thanks for all answers ( note: i have already read the thread on headphone burn in..but didnt find any thread on amp burn in

33 and 1/3 days of burning straight (800hours). Mrarroyo was right. I had another amp to tide my over. Yes it's along time and yes it is worth it. I burned in all my headphones during that time.

Agreed.

I just ensured I'd passed the recommended 700+ hours. I also just let it burn in unattended so I can't tell you what changes occured when during the process. I understand the reason for the burn in is to get the capacitors working at their optimum. Whatever the reason, the RSA recommendations for both Hornet (400+ hours) and Tomahawk (700+ hours) have worked brilliantly for me.
