it was a good time, great to see many head-fiers out and about.
Thanks to our gracious host Sasaki once again.

Everybody has their own interests, plus at five expansive floors of gear its a bit much to catch everything.

here is a smattering of what went on.

head-fiers assembling for duty!

Head-fi grand honchos

Mr Sasaki!!!

admit it, you want one.

MH Audio - cables and stuff...

The calm before the storm.

The view from midway up the building towards the western suburbs.

westone (?)

CTM

many western companies were situated here.

JVC SU-AX7

balanced DITA cable trial version, sounded fantastic.

DITA Audio, sounds like they have many new ideas for new upcoming products.

Fitear were there of course.

Astell and Kern.

AK10 playing at 16/96 (my guess).

Fiio of course

X5 was heavier than I expected, scroll wheel worked well for me.

Cypher labs, I took the Theorum for a spin.

Centrance and the many Hifi-M8 types...and who is that?

Centrance hifi-M8 mini. Sounded just as good. has a gain switch.

This guy is always there with his interesting homemade amps in various casings.

Hifiman was there.

new idevice, seems to play back at 16/96 also.

famous blogger/reviewer and famous IEM maker/designer.
international men of mystery (then we went for a nice lunch -thanks!).

had to give it a test drive.

secret head-fiers room, name that gear for 100 points!

Sony series.

Out to lunch at around 1pm (it opened at 11am), check out the waiting queue to get in.

That was - Day 1. or half of it at least.

The guys went to lunch at the time I was still entering the festival...

It was a pleasure to meet @SoupRKnowva, Gavin from Tralucent Audio and Dimitri from Musica Acoustics JP. Thanks for the brief (my fault, I was running late) but very pleasant talk!

I got to hear almost all full size cans I wanted to. All exhibitors very helpful and patient despite my zero knowledge of Japanese.

The new HiFiMANs for demo, the new Fostex TH500RP, the Oppo PM-1, the Abyss and a lot more!
And almost no waiting time. I found more people trying IEMs than headphones. I didn't expect that.

I didnt get to talk mgoodman of centrance aside from greetings yesterday as he and stacie were quite busy.
From what i gather is it is a prototype that has been around for a number of months. Lighter and probably meant for IEMS and easy to drive headphones.
I dont know about production status for it, sorry.

Hi,

Did anyone get to try the new iFi Dac/Amp? It was supposed to be shown at the Festival:

The machine for Japan is en route to the 2014 Spring Headphone Festival by FUJIYA-AVIC this weekend.

What does it say about me if I can name every single person in this picture by name, even though I've never met any of them in person?

Is it just me or do these guys seem to have a preference for in-ears and portable gear?

If you look at the US meets people bring whole computer systems, two stationary amps and 4 headphones.
