This day started off on a really bad note and continued to get worse as it progressed.I had to work at a firehouse on the other side of town and I needed to get out early enough to vote.My car would'nt start(I left the dome light on) and after I switched cars(which took 20 minutes) I got to the polling place to find it closed 15 minutes after it was supposed to be opened.I waited another 15 minutes which forced me to have to drive like a maniac to make roll call.I discovered when I got to the job that I left my Ballistic vest and airmask seal. The first two runs of the day were both gunshot victims(who the hell shoots somebody at 9:00am on a tuesday?) and both people died.I couldn't help but be in an awful mood and took it out on everybody, including the public, which I try to never do.It was also a cold, dark rainy day here which made all this stuff seem worse.

Up until 10:17pm tonight I had delivered 99 babies in my 10 year carreer as a Firefighter/Paramedic.I JUST DELIVERED MY 100TH BABY!!!!!!!!! Whenever a Firefighter helps deliver a baby it's a big deal.We see so much death, destruction and the worse that society has to offer.Helping bring a new life into the world always perks things up and makes us all feel better. We always like each call to have a happy conclusion, which rarely happens,so when healthy baby is born on our call, that is the best thing.I don't know most of the guys I'm working with today but when they found out that this was number 100 for me,we decided to celebrate. The cake that is the oven now smells soooooooo gooooood.German Chocolate is my favorite.Just when things seem to be at the very worst they can possibly be, something like this happens and makes everything right.I am happy to welcome Ms.Sophia Sarcinella into the world. She weighed 7lbs,10 ounces and was screamin' the minute she came out.I feel great now.

Tuberoller, let me be the first (or among the first if someone beats me whilst i type this) to congratulate you, and little Sophia's mom. Ms Sarcinella.

100 deliveries is quite amazing if you ask me.

i've had so many days lately where everything went wrong, and felt as you seemed to have today. but im quite glad the day ended in happiness and success for you.

and i want to thank you for staying in your profession for 10 years. unless i'm wrong, you've helped others for what i'd assume to be everyday (minus your probably rare moments of free time) for the last decade.

there are many of us who appreciate what you and those like you do for us helpless folk.

again, congrats, and take care!

Tuberoller,
I remember a similar post you did on your bad days.
I just want to say, that everytime you put on your uniform you are doing US a service. Remember that.
**** happens, tragedy is everywhere, but everytime you put on the uniform you are doing US a service. I have a cousin who puts on that uniform you wear, just in a different state and I feel the same way about him and remind him of how I feel.
Cool that you brought some life into this world! Enjoy!

Bro Fred !!

Mother Nature works like this !! Before you get too hard, "she" sends you a new baby born. And did it hundred times now... This way you remember how good life is . "She" always need you to remember that to go on, saving lifes and doing the best you can !

I wish my English was better, but I hope you understand me...

Welcome Ms.Sophia Sarcinella !!!!! VIVA Tuberoller !!!!!

Congratulations !!

Tuberoller -

Life & the universe are absolutely amazing. Aspects that you are well aware of, working in your profession. I will reiterate what the others here have stated that I am very, very thankful for all that you and your coworkers do, each and every day on my behalf, protecting and serving.

You restore my faith in humanity and I am grateful. Contratulations on your 100th delivery - TOTALLY AWESOME!!!!

Now go enjoy that German chocolate cake!

Tuberoller,

Congratulations on your 100th. Unlike most of the working force if you or I have a bad day "at the office" someone can get hurt or die. The difference is that you save people's lives after something is on fire while I try to prevent my "office" from catching fire among other things. Yesterday I also had a bad day. Moderate mechanical problems forced us to return in icy weather conditions. Everything turned out fine in the end, but the little things kept piling up. I was so happy when I got home around 1:00am.

After reading about your day I suddenly felt better. I realized my day wasn't so bad after all. I sympathize with your first half of your day and rejoice in the ending. Congratulations again.

Man, I love stories like this.
Just when you think the whole world is going to hell you experience something that puts it all into perspective.
Congrats on your 100th.
(Wish you 100 more. At this rate you should be just about to collect a pension by then. lol)
