Thought this would be a nice discussion to commemorate the 40th anniversary of rock's most famous festival.

You are voting for your favorite performance at Woodstock, not your favorite artist at Woodstock, but the performance which you felt was the highlight of Woodstock.

I cannot vote, as I haven't seen the actual performances. I will say that I think out of that list it would have been most awesome to see Jimi Hendrix for sure. Also would have loved to have seen Sly and the Family Stone...

Quite a few great ones, but two rise above as not just moments in music, but important moments in American History: Country Joe's Fixin to Die Rag and Jimi's Star-Spangled Banner. I'll go the patriotic route (not necessarily my usual choice) and pick Hendrix.

I'm from the Woodstock generation but I'm not qualified to say which performance was best. I wasn't there. Based on movies and reports from friends that attended, Jimi Hendrix's Star Spangled banner was clearly a highlight.

I doubt many of our members actually attended the event, but would love to hear their view.
