So my UE SF5 rubber tips have been giving me the ****s lately. Just can't get a good fit. I push them into my ear and they just slowly slide back out so that they're barely in. Constantly have to push them back in again. Rinse and repeat.

The rubber tips which come with the SF5 all look pretty much the same size, bar the big ones.

Ones that came with my old ATH-CK7 were perfect, never had any issues with them.

So, what are my options? Would the CK7 tips fit on my SF5s, or anything similar? I love my SF5s, but this is starting to annoy me!

Any help is appreciated

You can't use the soft foam tips? I also have the Fi.5 and I'm only using the soft tips, they are much comfortable for me than the silicone tips.

They don't sound near as good as they should. I find that Shure Clearflex fit great and improve the sound by a nice margin. Also bi-flanges work great also. I use the ones that you can buy on ebay for $5 shipped or the ones from Head-Direct should be good also. The Head-Direct are larger and the Shure clearflex(medium at least) run large also.

You will lose some bass and gain a fair amount of clarity and transparency. The thicker Shures are the best(for me) as they keep more bass and even increase the soundstage a bit. They are also indestructible. Both types of tips stay put quite well. The bi-flange are softer and most comfy > Shure > Stock(least comfy). Your mileage may vary but I have had a couple people agree on the bi-flanges improving fit/comfort/SQ and great for the $5.

Of course an easy, no cost solution is to wipe the tips with a little rubbing alcohol and clean your outer canal with a Q-tip with a little alcohol. Outer ear only of course as rubbing alcohol nor Q-tips are good for any deeper past where your index finger can reach. Once any oil/wax is removed the tips won't slide out any more. BUT, the sound that many people find dull or boring remains. I still say to ditch all the stocks and get some that will make them more lively and fun!

Do try the CK7 tips it is worth a shot but they might be a bit short in length and not isolate as well resulting in too thin a sound. Just make sure they fit tight enough on the sound tube so they do not come off in your ear! UE bi-flanges do that but they don't go in very far and do not require tweezers to extract them.

You might want to try the Comply T500s. They're foam but not at all itchy or irritating as the foam ones that come with UE phones and provide a much better seal than the silicone tips.

I think they're actually supplied with the triple.fi's now as a result of their popularity but I dunno about the super.fi's. They're advertised on UE's website.

Thanks fellas!

I'll give the foam ones I go (only ever given them a brief use and initially didn't like it, but will give them a chance to grow on me) otherwise I'll check out the alternatives.
