My UD120 has finally made its way through customs after being stuck there for about 5 days. Super excited to get my hands on this thing!

I just received the UD120. The device is very small, and yes, it gets hot

On my 14.04 Ubuntu desktop, it adds two sources. Digital Audio and Speakers.
Noise level, when directly connected to a FiiO E12 varies depending on the volume the E12 is kept at.
Given equal sound pressure on the HP, the gain stage on the UD120 when selecting the speakers source, make noise almost inaudible.
The digital output source, lacking of gain stage, needs gain from the E12 (given same sound pressure on the HP), and shows a little bit more noise. Nothing to be worried about.
More than the noise generated by the X3 in DAC mode, but much much less than the SMSL M2.
Sound quality wise, too early to talk about.

Hmm, I selected the speakers output, which opened up the volume control. Bumping that up.
When I went back to the digital audio output source, output signal level was bumped too, requiring less gain on the E12 (and hence less noise).
Not sure if it is a matter of the Linux driver, or the chipset on the UD120 having configurable gain on the line out.
Or if the two virtual source exposed by the USB bus are, within the UD120, mapping to the same source (buffered one, with configurable gain).

I'm having difficulties using the UD120 with DSD formats. I set it up in Foobar using ASIO like I do will all my other DACs but it's not putting out any sound
Could someone perhaps help me with these settings for the UD120?

(the list is longer than you can see)
Thank you

Haven't used FooBar for awhile now, but are you trying to play DSD on UD120 (via DoP), or are you trying to setup FooBar so it does internal DSD-to-PCM conversion, then play it on UD120? If it is former, then I can tell you it is not possible since PCM5102 in UD120 doesn't support DSD playback.

i dont think there is a need for that ,due to minute difference as explain previously ,with graphs and technical details and in addition the product has been discontinued

Did anyone try the UD120  (or the UD110v2) with the new LG G3?
Does it require UAPP?

Thanks

Edit: UD120 sounds fine with LG G2 (streaming RDIO).
Next week I'll get the LG g3 and post

Edit: Just tried the UD120 with LG G3. Using OTG cable and low impedance IEM. No need for UAPP.
Sounds more detailed than the original G3 audio output

Thanks but now im more confused =P

My HD560 are somewhat bright. I will be pairing them with the Schiit Vali that is supposedly more warm. Will the Modi+Vali still be to bright?
Will i miss the extra 32bit and (352.8/384 asio) kHz? What about being async or no async. Is this a advantage to UD120?

Sorry for these nooby questions.
