hello guys
smily_headphones1.gif

i think it's time for me 2 upgrade my headphones, since my GRADO SR-60's sound quality doesn't sound so great anymore (was my first "high" budget HP).

so now i'm looking for a better quality headphones, 100-150$ US range, for music use (metal mainly) on a AUDIGY 2 Value s.Card (soon 2 be X-Fi ExtremeMusic‎

).
it has 2 be a closed HP, since my dad keeps bugging me on the SR-60 high volume

thx

I am confident that they both haves same drivers. But A500 is more plastic and A700 is more alumunium. No sound quality difference reported yet.

not heard sr60 yet. But can explain you A900's sound.

My previous sony phones were sounding like 2.1 multimedia speakers with extremely low powered and distorted bass. But when I bought A500's, then I felt that I am listening $2000 5.1 setup. like detailed and assorted sound is coming from various sides with impactfull bass.

Switching to the AT's will give you a recessed midrange, but better highs and lows than the SR-60. You might want to take a look at the Sennheiser HD25-1 which works better with your music tastes if you can get it at a price closer to your budget.
