I tried Final Audio tips on the advice here. They're brilliant! Firmer bass, extra sparkle without any change in the tonal character. Brilliant.

I can concur with final audio E eartips, they have very similar presentation with default sony silicone (hybrid), differences is very subtle but they have firmer nozzle material that resonance a little bit harder.
( I have lotttt of eartips, maybe almost every populatlr eatips i have pair to roll with my IEMs)

No more gripes with the vacuum effect

Congrats but i dont like xelastec on my M7, they have great seal but soundwise, they absorbs the sparkles more, while make everything more distant especially mids, provide a little depth more. They absorbed highs more than spiral dot++. Xelastec pair well for sibilance IEMs, bright highs. I still prefer the azla sedna short for M7 or the Z1R silicone eartips come close second (with a pinch hole if needed to tackle vacuum effect)
Well I love these on my M7 as well, helps a lot with the damn vacuum effect, and helps the otherwise weak treble detail from M7 it doesnt kill it
Note that M7 use xelastec size M, previously was using Sony hybrid MS, on IER-Z1R have xelastec MS was using sony hybrid MS

They bring up 5-6khz and upper highs but they absorb the decay, you can compare with A B ing with sedna short light if you have one. Snare decay gone too fast with xelastec.
Cant say which one is better, they have their own strength and weakness and everything are subject to your preferences

I have an M9 arriving today. Is any one here using an aftermarket cable on theirs with satisfaction? If so which one and what does it do better than stock cable?

I would recommend Brise Audio STR7-SE. I tried it with M9 and it enhances the SQ even more. I got a very analog, hi-fi-like sound signature on top of the M9 sound. Bass has more weight and slam. I was very very impressed with such enhancement and I might really go for one in the future.

Brise Audio also offers an option to customize their cable and they provide the Sony IER type mmcx connector. If ordering I would go for this type of connector, with a L-shaped Brise Audio 4.4mm plug for the termination.

Found a great cable for my M9s. CEMA Tianwaitian. It really livens up the M9 and sounds like live music. Played some Tool and it was the best I have ever experienced.

Agree. I have the same cable for both my Fitear CIEMs and with MMCX connector. It IS really good. You should try the Chime from them too. More intimate. previous flagship cable. now on 19% discount for Black Friday on AliExpress. :)

Can anyone compare the mh-755 to the ier-m7? I enjoy sub-bass and it seems like the m7's won't be able to match the mh755's sub has production.

Would really love a second gen version of the m7 or mh755!

If you’re a fan of bass stick to a DD IEM’s.

I have both mh755 and M7. They definitely on different level that cant be compared.
M7 bass even using BA have much better depth, texturing and layering. Quantity is on mh755 side but they are smearing, not tight, and not textured well. M7 bass is leaner but have much better quality.
M7 and M9 bass is one of the best in BA bass world (had andromeda before).
Since i also have Z1R, If you have budget just go straight to Z1R, best bass i ever heard on an IEM. The texture, depth and punch is crazy. Fast but can go for long rumble, attack and punch with great dynamic impact. But Z1R is harder to drive also.

I went through MH-755 to others iem to M7 to M9 and to Z1R.....if you can (and if it fits), save up for Z1R.
But from my experience, MH-755 is just one of those that I'd grab for quick fun here and there, or for exercise. I'd say I enjoy MH755 more in some situation, but overall, it can't beat M7 even in bass department. Pure fun...

Side question: what tips do you use for Z1R? I see you tested a few.
