You're saying the z1r has not much bass?
Yes, I demoed it four times , cause I had a few Sonys with dynamic drivers. Seem the z1r is more like an upside U sound. Smooth treble, light bass. I demoed it with an amp, Cayin N8 , and ifi Bl.

The IER-Z1R demo IS NOT AVAILABLE any where, anytime, okay?
only when Sony JAPAN wanted to do some "sneak peek demo" also to collect feedback from HK's user
I had to fill in a questionnaire after the demo in JabenHK

Each shop only have a demo section of 5 - 6 hours and those demo unit cycle through each shop
so you have to check when and where to demo it. Also, no demo section held at the moment.

Singapore has the z1r for demo.

I just tried it today and I’m pretty disappointed...

Man idk what's your reference for bass levels but the z1r has quite a bit of bass. Z1r has more bass quantity than ex1k, M9, m7.

Compared to the new noble Khan, the z1r was quite far away. It’s wider and has arguably bigger scale due to the tuning and bass quantity but the depth and height are lacking, making it very forward. Transparency, resolution, precision and imaging fall short of the noble as well.

I'd still like to demo it or hear impressions of it with a desktop amps or a Hugo 2. If it doesn't sound like I'll like it and I have an urge to pick up a hybrid, it may come down to the Solaris which I'm also worried about not liking and the Trio which I've heard and liked, but not at the price it's going for. Maybe I need to get the N8.
