After trying almost every tip for my E500s, I've yet to find something that is comfortable for more then an hours time. I've come to think that custom tips are my way out. Naturally, I have a couple questions:

1. What are my options(compatibility) as custom tips go? (I've seen Westone tips, UE, Shure?)

2. As I age, will I need to get more impressions? Will this cost me? This goes with re-fits as well.

3. Any other suggestions/ tips I should know about customs?

If anyone would like to trade a pair of SMALL black foam sleeves for a pair of MEDIUM, I would like to try that before following through with this.

Earlier today I was fitted for Westone custom sleeves for my Etymotic ER-4P. I know that Sensaphonics can make them for Shure E500.

Impressions commonly run $50 and should be taken every two years.

H.E.A.R. in San Francisco offers a free fitting "check-up" one month after receipt. This ensures you continue to be happy with the comfort and performance.
