It all started this afternoon, I wanted to get some music so I turn on my LD2+ and let it warm up.
Right after it is turned on, some sparking noise start coming out of both the LD2+ and my headphone, I rushed to turn the power off and I noticed that there is a burning smell and smoke coming out of the machine.

I let the machine cool down a little bit and try to open the case and check the inside.
I discover there are a couple resistors blowed and burnt as in the picture:


Is there any headfier who could help me fix it?
My soldering skill is limited (close to zero) and I counln't figured out how to take the board out of the case (yes, I tried to take off all the screw on the machine and the board just doesn't get off.....).
Would anybody share how to disassemble the machine and fixing the machine?
Or kind enough to fix it for me? (Of coz I will pay for any expense needed)

If its just fried resistors it should be an easy fix.
If however theres something upstream that caused the resistors to cook.... that could be more difficult.


I would be surprised if its not the same value as that other 4990B resistor below.

The cause of it should be the connection between the power cord and the machine, I found the plug is somehow lossy afterward.....

I tried to take off the board and see if there is anymore damages on the other side.
But I couldn't get the board off the case at all.....

How long have you had it? Have you considered sending it back for repair?

I have one on the way, kinda wish i didn't see this thread

I have talk to Mr. Yang and he said that I might also has a defected 4P1S tube.
Which it seems that just me having bad luck.
Don't worry, this is the first time I have hear this problem(in both chinese and english forums).
He said he'll send me those resistors and new tubes.

Shouldn't there be some kind of built in protection in the amps design?


Tubes fail. Its not uncommon at all... I think my guitar amps have some kind of protection built into the circuit.

protection almost always has major effects on SQ.

It's part of my problem, I haven't secure the power cord when I turn the machine, this might have caused the tube to malfunction.

Secured the power cord? You mean it wasn't all the way in? It was loose?
I've never heard about this kind of problem with tube amps but alright, thanks for the info. Keep us posted!
