I just stumbled on this when looking at the backside of my "Guns'N'Roses - Appetite for destruction" :
''Warning : The music on this compact disk was originally recorded on analog equipment prior to modern noise reduction techniques, This CD preserves, as closely as possible, the sound of the original recording, but its high resolution also reveals limitations in the master tape, including noise and other distortions."

Sounds like magic to me

I went through my music library and found it also behind my "Black Sabbath - Paranoid" and "Phil Collins - 12" ERS" CDs.

Next time I go to Futureshop or Best Buy I'll turn up every CD to find the ones with this lovely warning

Im pretty sure thats on atleast 99% of the cds I own.

My favorite CD warning is from Ani Difranco discs "unauthorized duplication, while sometimes necessary, is never as good as the real thing."

It was very common for awhile in the 80s and 90s during the transition from Vinyl and Cassette to cd. Maybe 99% is an overstatement, because as i look at some of my newer discs they do not seem to have it, but i certainly remember it on most of my classic rock and jazz discs.

Nine Inch Nails Broken Ep has a warning about playing it on mono systems or something along those lines.

Some nice warning messages:
Quote:

No unauthorised sampling of Sheila Chandra'a recordings -- "I don't call it flattery; I call it stealing"
From her album Weaving My Ancestors' Voices.

The album Ladies and Gentlemen we're Floating in Space by Spiritualized is packaged like a packet of panadols, with the sleeve notes looking like a drug insert. Among the instructions and precautions:

Quote:

When should you be extra careful while taking Spiritualized?

If you are taking any other medicines, including those not prescribed by your doctor. This is extremely important, as using more than one medicines at the same time can strengthen or weaken the effect of the medicine involved.
