Why would that be? Is it the act of playing the physical item, because it's not any real SONIC difference or improvement from digital, since essentially they are the same, so you'd be compelled to listen to them more simply because of the "physical sensation" of having it in hand?
Well, when it comes to SACDs, there's also the option to blast them in 2 channel on a great speaker system, and oftentimes there's multichannel mixes for those who like the surround experience. The sound of SACDs on a good speaker system is usually unbeatable unless you have a $20K turntable 😂!

Yeah, suspicious 🤔 😀
I possibly meant it in a different way than you interpreted it - my bad... What I meant was:

Some have adviced me to look for a used LP6Pro to cure my pain, and with Paris and possibly Singapore at the doorstep that itch is doing its thing. It's just that it seems hardly possible a used LP6Pro would exist as what on Earth would a seller upgrade to? So looking for one may be a task that can never be completed so why even bother?

No, no, I was unclear. I meant it as a joke and a sign of admiration for LP P6P. What I meant is that it si so good that no owner in his rightful mind would sell it. Ergo, if one appears, something's "fishy" ;) Probably a bad joke, in view of the recent events. Sorry if I was insensitive, I'm listening to Cecile Verny on the Stardust and I'm totally transported. (@goldwerger broke me with his C Verny recommendation, I can't stop listening. Thanks!)
In order to not compete with you for the few P6Ps, I'll let you buy it, when it appears, then I'll pester you to have an audition.
What do you think? :)

They do come up from time to time, everything does. I can think of two.players which I've had and in my eyes are just as good. One is E7 and the other I have now, the N2.

Musicteck have an open box Obsidian P6Pro and there are new black versions available in the UK from Hifonix, although £2999. For the sound and battery life it's totally worth it.

For me:

iBasso AMP 16 which I’ve pre ordered. I am hoping this adds a bit of warmth, unfortunately no LO.

Quill Satin release. Not sure I’ll buy one since I don’t “need” but I’ll ask for a demo at some point to revisit and go from there. It’s a great set.

Canpur CP622b Ti.. same as above but I’m not sure there will be any demo units since it’s a limited model. Might be tempted to blind buy this one and see how I like it.

Also I received this yesterday but I’ve had very little usage with it so far, it’s a beaut though.

Tube amps with swappable tubes have the warmth you need, wouldn't expect solid state stuff to be warm. Seems the much easier route than trying to try 20 daps to find one that has synergy. The difference you get swapping tubes is much higher than the difference between daps.

Is there a way to disable upsampling in Mac OS when listening to bandcamp streaming, I set Audio midi setup to 44,100hz (Bandcamp streams are 128 (guessing 44,100hz)). Maybe theres some plugin. I dont mind setting it manually since I only use it when I listen to bandcamp, everything else is handled bitperfect by Jriver.

Update on my situation with @dpeterfy32 and his theft. Head Fi is assisting and I have made claims with PayPal and my credit card company. Also, Eric of Eletech read these posts and in his normal, Eric way, reached out to me with sadness that this occurred over one of his products. I am so overcome by my own flood of emotions, from feeling scammed to feeling so supported, that the overall sensation is truly happiness and hopefulness.

I maintain that my loss is my own fault and doing, and I am hopeful for a good resolution, but have no expectations.

The same could be said for the reaction of the entire community; it has been so supportive (despite this being my fault) and I couldn't be more humbled and touched ❤️! I do not ask for or want hand outs, I just want my bad experience to 1) get fairly resolved, and 2) serve as a warning that the brotherhood most of us revere and share here does not mean you should use PP F&F with someone you've not had enough personal interactions with to qualify as "friends and family". That said, I am again humbled and touched to know that so many of you have become exactly that, and I will not let this bad experience taint that!!

I have decided that one bad apple will not, and cannot, shake my love for music or this hobby, or my faith in this amazing community!! I may be done with Friends and Family payments if we've not established a personal relationship, but I am far from done with our hobby and this community! My trust was shaken, but it is not broken ❤️!! Love you all!
Fingers crossed you're able to receive compensation in some form. In any cause I applaud you for remaining upbeat towards the community when it'd be very easy to become cynical after being the victim of a disreputable individual.

Head-Fi is one of the most respectable & trustworthy online communities I've been lucky enough to be part of, the occasional miscreant can drag things down for the rest of us but generally speaking people here are a pleasure to associate with.

That said that it never hurts to ask around about any poster you're thinking of buying or selling to. The few 'bad seeds' are often known to the Watercooler community.

Spent some time today trying to catch up with reviews, and took photos for my next review which is the wonderful Softears Volume S - followed by Softears Enigma.

Life has been a right pain in the ass for me over the last few months, and I've had so little time or even headspace for the hobby unfortunately - that has also meant I won't be attending the upcoming EU meet up in Paris next weekend which I'm very disappointed about. I hear mention however of the October meet, and I absolutely will not be missing that one. Anyway, it sounds like quite a few going to Paris, hope you all have a great time and look forward to seeing the photos!

Back to Volume S briefly... really enjoyable set - not a fan of the high impedance setting as the upper mids lean a bit harsh, but the low impedance setting provides a rich, emotive, highly captivating experience in a large stage - impressive for the asking price of $319.

Oh and after what felt like a long winter, I am now back in my mobile home at the weekends - fantastic to be here!

Looks awesome! Purple is my favorite color; need to get that purple GT2 case :)

Got my first purple audio gear today.
Edit: Not first; Volur, UM Max and others were purple :)

Love this. Purple and gold might be my favorite color combo.

I missed this whole saga. I'm sorry that you had to go through it all. The feeling of betrayal by someone else always hurts deeper than the monetary loss.

:sparkles:just realized this is my 2000th post haha:sparkles:

Rebuilding my music library from scratch and adding to my CD collection is what excites me the most. This kicked off with an eBay purchase! I found the complete Karajan Box Set by Deutsche Grammophon on eBay for less than 2k last year (small dent on the box). The box set belonged to a music collector who passed away, and it seems his daughter was put in charge of selling the music. Judging by the condition of it, I don't think he ever used it but it the box got dropped when his house was cleared out. I think she just wanted the box set gone as quickly as possible, I noted there were no returns accepted on the listing. I quickly snapped it up as these box sets are hard to find and when they do, they go for a premium. This box set sells for 5k on eBay today. After I took receipt of this Karajan Complete Recordings set, I committed that I would rebuild my library with music I actually value enough to pay money for. Since then, I've discovered SACDs and I think I've found the perfect physical format for me. I'm looking forward to whatever new music discoveries come down the line. Collecting music is a lot of fun, dare I say more fun than the gear.

When it comes to gear, the only upgrade that truly excites me is a flagship grade SACD Player. Given the cost involved, this likely won't happen for a while. I don't mind as I can burn any SACD I purchase to DSD files. Meanwhile, Hugo2Go serves as a great transportable system and desktop DAC for now.

The white spots on the Karajan Box are styrofoam pieces, I brushed them off after taking this picture haha

Epic!

Got me all excited! Then saw EU… damn. 😂

I just got a Jet Black and Stardust in. Once I get the Maven II back I will tour them in the US.

Other tour news:

Duality US tour starting soon too.

AME lineup just started in the US.

For Canada-- stay tuned for a Nostalgia Audio tour as well as Flipears Aegis & Legion which I am thinking of touring alongside the Elysian Apostle.

Speaking of things to look for in 2025, isn’t this the year of Campfire Audio’s 10th anniversary? Surely they’re bringing out something special to celebrate!

I can only imagine they are...no idea yet what might look like though. Exciting!

It is so nice to hear that you enjoy the Hercules Audio Moses. Our Motto for Moses is Balance Natural Greatness. We are pleased to hear your impression and I guess we have successfully achived it.

oh I forgot to mention, the Moses has a full Titanium shell.

Any chance of a Hercules for our Watercoller Tour program :)

In other news, a great memory from this week last year:

It's the people that make this hobby truly great.

Lastly, I laugh whenever I see this. It will be me when Trifecta MKii comes out:

Guys, I think we need a positive topic for a change.

What things are you most looking forward to in the coming months?

As far as I'm concerned, in no particular order:

- Successor of UM Mentor (speculation)
- Successor of Trifecta (speculation)
- Successor of DX320MaxTi (speculation)
- Cheaper Noble Chronicle (speculation)
- Anni 25
- AiO by Cayin and iBasso
- Maybe Moses
- Maybe Duality (tour kit is arriving next week, thanks to @Chang and @armstrj2 !!)
- slowing down spending habits
- getting to demo some cool gear throughout the year thanks to the awesome community i have found here (shouts @kaeswiss / @Jaytiss / @thaslaya / @MakeItWain @EnigmaFotos )
- allowing others to tour my collection when i can
- determining my next audio steps at CanJam SoCal cause honestly, its pretty friggin good already
- i need an amp & DAP upgrade badly

Truly epic in every sense of the word. 😄
So my plan is once my OPPO SACD/Blu-ray player kicks the bucket I’ll try to get an esoteric SACD player and then just buy a generic Blu ray player to use as a transport.
As it stands for now. I’m happy with the OPPO, but the DAC inside the player when playing the SACD layer of my discs is mediocre at best.
Never a dull moment thinking about what upgradable path one can take in this hobby of ours. 😌

Hey there! Have you compared them to the Mechas? Very curious to see a comparison between the two.

@emdeevee I really hope you have a good outcome from this. I remember dPeter32's original interactions on the forums and for a number of reasons had him on my "ignore" list as a result. The OTL is a fabulous cable technically, slightly coloured in the mids but an excellent pairing to Elysian X and when I tried it, IEM's like the XE6.

This is a fantastic community. And Eric @ Eletech is also a wonderful person to deal with. Speaking of which, I should chase up what happened to the SOA I purchased from another member here.

I hear prototype, do tell me more

I will as soon as I can!

I offer as given our proximity to each other, and hell gives me a reason to get you and Warren together at Quiadaiyn for some good food and conversation! Or come down my way for some kick ass Japanese food (Atherhole and Big Beans You in also?)
And one thing to know about me, if there’s good food, I will do what I can to be there!! Quiadaiyn again is needed. Japanese food, yes yes! If I recall correctly it was Mitsuwa we were talking about?
Canjam Socal is still too far away! Definitely need a few meal meetup between now and then!! Quiadaiyn @warrenpchi, @Aetherhole, @bigbeans, @NJoyzAudio!!!!

Secret SoCal meet in cleartext! :open_mouth:
