Wonderful writeup, thanks for sharing!

@timeslip has previously shared his good impressions from his home demo of the Armageddon. I may need to give it a spin one day. I do understand it’s quite dynamic and a bit more v shaped which lines up with your impressions.

Looks like the Immanis is very amp dependent, from all accounts. I still hope to one day demo it with the AIC one day…

Mini CJ in NorCal? =) AIC10 vs 465 vs Armageddon with some drinks? I couldn't get the amp off my mind and finally caved after having a dream about it.

When you have dreams about audio gear is it to join AA, Audiophiles Anonymous? Seriously thought sounds like a lot of fun. Hope you enjoy your meet up.

Quite a few head-fiers in Bay Area who may be interested as well...but we understand if you prefer to keep it simple...after all it was your dream! :sleeping_accommodation::sleeping::musical_note:

Tempting..
If not, perhaps convince you to bring the Armageddon to NYC @Frankie D cab supply the 465 and I’ll supply the AIC10 (and few other tube amps)…😉

Why don't you all meet in the middle and come to our Denver meet on December 7th?

Yeah, I'm skeptical, but whether this first attempt turns out to be good or a hot mess I love seeing the innovation!
Yes, innovation and experimenting are always good. Hats off to HiFiMan for that.
Genuinely curious about how the Isvarna is going to turn out. But given their questionable record with closed back dynamic drivers, I am cautiously optimistic.
I am also curious. Hybrid drivers are super common in IEMs, but there is only a handful examples in headphones, and they usually don't turn out very well. HiFiMan built this (sub)bass dynamic driver from scratch, for these headphones. Let's hope they managed to implement it seamlessly. I obviously do not know, but the Isvarna gives me the feeling that this bass driver acts like a sub-woofer in a speaker system. Perhaps they aimed for a more 'fun' tuning than usual? Hopefully the Isvarna won't be another landmine they stepped on with the Audivina.

Wish I was closer. Any of you UK guys doing some similarly fun meetups? :)

Even if the Isvarna turns out to be a flop, It will at the very least encourage other headphone manufacturers to try out this driver topology.

Now you are really tempting me… 😁
And it looks like HeadAmp is also joining us (in addition to RAAL), so we should have lots of amazing gear!

I would love to join you guys and as tempting as this is, I have two concerts that very weekend…

I know it’ll be a blast, though!
