Recently I bought a digital tuner to bring in OTA digital stations, and stumbled upon a channel called "The Tube" that played an almost constant stream of videos from the 70s to today. It was very, very entertaining and brought back a lot of memories for us.

It was too good to be true!

Yeah, I was wondering if a free TV station with no advertisements would last.

Guess my question has been answered.

The Tube was on for a good many years. I still enjoy my OTA HDTV, though.

Ed, me too. I can't believe the quality of the programming--I even get some Dutch and other international channels. I don't miss the DirecTV bills, and I was not watching much, so the cost used to be about $5 per hour, now it's nothing.

(If anyone is on the fence about this, check out www.warrenelectronics.com. Just pick a UHF antenna, a few sections of mast, and a chimney mount, and safety harness & you are in business. I added a rotator & amplifier for good measure. DIYed the whole thing & couldn't be more pleased. Buh-bye pay TV!)

I remember noticing that when I first got my HDTV tuner a couple years ago. In the Denver it was on channel 2-2. Never really watched it, but I did notice I never noticed any commercials on it. Sad that something like that is gone.
