I heard that it is not possible to completely bypass Vista's audio interface (thus no more EAX in Vista), and this leads some serious audio degrading effects. Hmmmm, does it affect my setup?

Winamp (Directsound) => Optical out using Audioadvantage Amigo => My dac and so on.

I wonder whether Vista interfere during the process between directsound and optical out. If it is true and surely degrading the sound, I have one more reason to hate Vista.

you do get full EAX in DX 10 titles. for DX 9 you need the ALchemy drivers.

The best anyway is to dualboot XP and Vista. DX 10 titles runs better on Vista then XP and also som DX 9 titles actually. Even though for most DX 9 titles you get better performance in XP.

What the? EAX has nothing to do with DX 10 or 9.

No, I am saying about music playback. As someone said above, EAX works independently, does not related to DX. (I just mention this for the example.)
