Happy anniversary Walkman

Ah yes Aiwa kit! Used to love their hi-fi's in the 90's, had more coloured lights than a fairground ride :-D .. I owned an Aiwa px547 back in the day!

Used to dream about owning the flagship that had a huge graphic equaliser display on the front, HS-PX1000 !

Buy it for your 40th anniversary :D LOL!

But seriously, what if Sony comes out with a WM1Z special edition like Silver chassis and internal wires ? That would be the first portable device ever to use a Silver chassis. It would be priced very expensive then, by the chassis alone LOL

The walkmans and Aiwa players they put out in Japan were much better products than the cheap stuff in the US. They looked really cool as well.

The Japanese ones from the 90's that weren't released in the US, there were so many cool looking ones. I think 90's was the peak times for Japanese culture. I luv their Manga, anime, music, cars, video games, and audio systems from those days.

Come'on DAT is Digital. :p

Traditionally new Walkman products come out on July 1st, then again on October 21st.

I honestly don't think they'll update the NW-WM1 at least not for a long time. I still got my WM-DD9. Now that's analog lol!

My long lost audio pal! What’s up buddy? Still have your E484? I still have it but mostly in storage not being used much.

Yup the DD9 and E484 sit together in my display case. They don't get used anymore just because I don't want to break them.

I watched those videos of the exhibit at Ginza just now. Too bad I won't get to visit Tokyo until Christmas and the display ends on Sept. 1st.

I just charged up my WM1A and PHA-3 last night. Haven't touched it at all this year. Will listen to it when I get home from work. :D

I've had the PX1000 bought used at one point. Trust me you ain't missing much. The sound imo wasn't as warm as the Sony Walkman, and the belt broke in no time lol! The titanium body and big EQ display were really cool tho I give you that. I think the JX707/3000 with the cool lady voice function announcer sounded much better IIRC (I never had this but my elementary school classmate did at the time).
