And it seems sony won't give up their WM port conector any time soon

I'm really in a quandary now. I guess we'll wait for the official announcement and specs, but right now, I'm preferring the WM1A as an upgrade from my ZX1 or wait another year or longer for a 1A replacement..

Yes, the design looked a little too amateurish, IMHO. I also don't see how this type of utility device would benefit from having a 2.5D screen. I think it's safe to see many would prefer durability over the limited benefit of a flowing screen.

If it was fan made, its looks better with the curved glass, it seems like a ZX300 with a facelift.

I do agree that the 2.5D glass looks more appealing, but apart from visual looks it doesn't help much in terms of durability. It's kinda like what Samsung is doing with their smartphones

The only thing I don't like about the curved screen thing is the edges reflecting too much light. It's mostly a problem on Reddit, where it's hard to see which comments attach to other comments and whatnot. I'm all for it on a dap, though. I drop my zx300 far less than my phone. Literally all I want is native streaming, though.

Those pictures are fake, as fake as bigfoots walkman.

Look at the white glare on top of the purple player and run it down. It goes off the edge and into the screen. Not one of lights reflection properties.

Also the Sony font used in the picture should be capitals before the zx500.

Even the Walkman logo on the bottom pic is kinda weird and missing in the middle picture.

I’m pretty sure it’s fan art.

I have tought on that indeed, they're fake after closer inspection. Perhaps we can wait for some leaks by @Sonyvores

Trying to decide which Sony Walkman would be best for me.
The WM1A might be out of my price range and i like access to TIDAL HIFI.
Or I could keep buying CD;s and ripping -don’t mind as the music is mine forever.

I would like to to buy Sony Headphones or IEM’s to plug into the Sony Player. Anyone suggest options in simple terms.

My desktop DAC is Sony TAZH1ES.

If you stream through TIDAL then none if Sony's current players will suit you as they all play files locally. There's rumors that the new one might but there's no guarantee yet.

That's probably a good pair but he did say the WM1A might be out of his price range, if he can't get a $1000 DAP I wouldn't expect him to get a $2000 pair of headphones either lol
