Sennheiser is now offering a holiday rebate on the 497's, 580's, and 600's, among many other 'phones. I was reading the rebate and it says that the offer is valid in the US only. Does this mean that the buyer must live in the US, or that the seller must be located in the US?

Here's the rebate in PDF form. It says it's valid from Oct 15th until the year's end of 2002.

Thanks akar. looks like i won't be able to take advantage of this one... $50 off the 600s though from amazon would be a pretty good deal i think. amazon must be a senn usa dealer...

Actually, I don't think the price of HD600 on amazon is particularly good...

You can get the 600s from HeadRoom for $279.
Then send in the $50 rebate and go to www.sennheiserusa.com and upgrade your two year warranty to a five year warranty for free.

Right you are, Gergor. My memory served me poorly this time... For some reason I remembered it much lower than the rather high $300+. BTW, I picked up mine off Ebay new for $219 with free shipping and a 6 month warranty. This was through hi-fi for less. imagine $50 off that price... mmm... but i doubt they are officially licensed sennheiser usa reps.

I think meier audio sells it at low $200. Just checked on the web site, the price of HD600 is taken out (too low to advertise?). I don't think it'll qualify for a rebate. But even without rebate it's still cheaper than most US dealer with rebate.

newegg.com has great deals on 580s, when they have them in stock, i picked mine up for 126 shipped, no idea if they are authorized, but they are the premier vendor for computer people on the web, amazing prices on everything.

Good for you, maverick_12. $120 is indeed a very good price. I found out about it too late though. Not sure if they'll restock it.
