Hey guys, just on the look out for great sounding, super comfy cans that will be worn for 6-10 hours in a row, can be open, closed, whatever, but need good mids/highs, no sibilance, non-fatiguing and the bass should be there, just very tight and not overwhelming. Thanks! (should be around 200-250 GBP)

Cheap route: AKG K240. :)

The sony xb-500 headphones. Like two huge black pillows on your head. I would love to find a pair that is more comfy than these. The xb stands for extra bass but it really isn't extra. It's just very deep but controlled and the mids and highs with the fiio e11 are great.

I don't think the OP wants an XB500, judging by their sonic preferences. They are comfy, but the bass is overwhelming. The Fischer Audio FA-003/Brainwavz HM5/LINDY Premium Hi-Fi (the last would be your best UK option) are ultra-comfortable after being stretched out over a tissue box for a week or so, and sound extremely neutral and great for the price.

I second the AKG 240. Perfect mids, solid bass, very comfortable (you can get velour pads - from the 271 - for even more long term listening comfort), and well within your budget.

Agreed. The Sextett gives a great sound for the price (Under £100) , as it's 250 grams and it has optional velour pads for more comfort. For anything to be comfortable, I personally believe it should not exceed 350 grams in weight, all those LCD2 owners complaining about neck problems are evidence of this as the LCD2 weighs 550 grams.

I've always thought that bose headphones felt like pillows on my ears. Their frames are usually super light, which helps.

I've never had a problem with comfort with headphones above the $300 range but I do prefer headphones that have velour cups. I do favour the k701's because of their huge, well padded cups.
