The Qudelix-5K thread

Anybody know why the amp picks up noise from hand/fingers moving over the body of the device when on a telephone call on BT? It seems like it's related to when mic is on, it creates sliding noise from when the hand moves over the surface of the device. Not a great first impression.

Seems like a built in mic, and I'm hearing the mic picking up stuff around it. I do not like hearing the mic pickup sounds as I am using it for calls. I want inline mic on the earphone to picmup my voice, not the device. I have no idea what is going on, and don't have ti.e or patience for this.

Somerhing is really weird. when I'm on call, it's hard for the other paery to hear. I got it so I can use it for calls wirelessly, and it fails at it. WTH?!

what is this for?

in app go to Input - Mic - Mic pasthru. might need to have a call going to be allowed to change the switch off, can't check myself

edit: oh yeah, yes it does have a built in Mic or you can set it to pass through a Headphone Mic afaik or completely disable as above

Why does it sound like the volume goes down and hear your echo during calls? Is there anyway to stop hearing your echoes? All this crap I'm going through from phones getting rid of a headphone jack. It's unexcusable.

Would plugging a 3.5mm balanced cable damage the Qudelix?

Tried to research but getting different answers.
Damage, probably no, but it may not work—as no sound, or only one side…

You get different answers because there is no real standard for 3.5 balanced connectors. The two most common (?) are (in TRSS order): L-/R-/R+/L+, or R-/L-/R+/L+
Exactly. Some will work without issue in a standard SE 3.5 output. Others will lose a channel, swap channels, or do nothing. I'd avoid doing this unless you know exactly what you're doing (and why).

I figured this out. I had to reduce the passthrough mic gain. I set it on 11, and don't hear what the mic is picking up anymore.

So, yall gettin like 20hrs with AAC instead of LDAC? LDAC seems to eat the battery life too fast.

Is it really unsafe to use a fast charger higher than 5v? I assumed the device would limit the voltage and current. I guess it's not a safe assumption. I wish it would fast charge.

Most optimal way to extend battery life with LDAC? What settings to use? How to set it to 1V?

Make sure gain is set to normal instead of high. Use 3.5mm unbalanced. That will use 1V. (Technically 1 VRMS.)

Depends on your definition of optimal. Change performance mode to standard. My definition of optimal is that I'd rather have slightly shorter battery life and the highest performance.

Using performance yesterday, I got about 7 hours of use with the battery going from 70% to 15%. I use the setting to stop charging at 80%, which really means 70%.

I use most of the same settings, but since I've used my Q5K so much over the past few years, it's now down to about 2hrs of battery life per charge. No longer a very useful device unfortunately. RIP. I recently replaced/supplemented it with a budget DAP (Hiby R4) rather than attempt a battery replacement or just replacing the entire Q5K.

2.5 hrs of charge time is an issue for me. For such a small battery, should be much faster. Fast charge would be nice.

I need bt device to be flexable to charge real fast when urgent.

Mine charges in about an hour or less. But I'm not going from 0 to 100, either.

Fast charge will degrade the battery faster. If the battery were my only issue, I'd buy two. I don't know of any other device in this class that provides the features and sound quality I like at less than twice the price. (In fact, I'm not aware of any for significantly more.) You can get the T71 with double the battery for 3x the price, and that also gives you more features that would be useful for listening to 7.1 surround sound on headphones.

Same- I deplete mine down to about 20% and it takes maybe an hour to recharge.
