Is the spot fairly far down on the ear? I found that putting them down quite far, and having them on the edge of the ear got the best seal. You can kind of feel it when it's sealed correctly...kind of a clamped-down feeling.
How good are the px200's for isolation? I was thinking of getting a pair for use on the bus but i'd like to know if they isolate reasonably well as i don't want to have to crank the music too loud to hear it properly
The seal is *pretty* good, it seals just enough to for you to barely hear what your friends are saying (so you know when they are insulting you...
)when playing music at a reasonable volume. You can hear the rumble of the bus engine during the quieter passages, but your music still comes out pretty well.
My "source" (if you can call it a source) is a wimpy Tungsten|T handheld which has a ****ted audio out, so volume is pretty soft. Anyways with a good source, you should get a reasonable listening experience without having to blast the music...
The best match I could get to the Tungsten was the px200. Luckily though, my ipod never ran out of battery when in public, so I never had to be reduced to actually using the Tungsten for mp3. So yeah, I feel your pain.
It seemed at the time, a few months ago, Aeroplayer sounded best. That may have changed though. I'm now using an old reliable dust-ridden Jornada 568 as my main PDA (Tungsten is for sale on a local type of ebay) with Withmp3.
I tried to help some people over at Brighthand with headphones, but they were all idiots.

I guess I should say that I've figured out how to find the right spot. What I do is to put them on in a normal position, then push them downward and also angle the cups downward a little bit until the bass gets too heavy, then adjust them back upwards until the bass is right.
All I can say about the isolation is that it seems to be good enough. For instance, I was in my local coffee house yesterday with music playing on their speakers and people talking on all sides and was able to listen quite happily without cranking my portable up too high. However, with my portable off I could hear what was going on around me. One thing I like about the PX200 is that, unlike canal phones or even ear clips, you can easily slip them off if you want to fully hear what's going on.
