The PENON official thread

Got an small holiday and coincidentally also got these one in to check it out (thanks @Tanalasta)

Interesting IEM with a good potential, that straight away I noticed it was restricted by the stock cable. Got these EA Ares x Cadmus in and noticed an opening in sound expansion. Also good to experiment with the switches and matching with my library.

Currently enjoying the album below with Bass switch up. Just for the relaxed musicality. It drops resolution in exchange for warmth.

''Looking back I was a little hard on the original Pyramid cable. When in truth it is priced right, it is just the secret sauce added by those 2 extra wires is real and effective. As talked about earlier, it is added VI stage girth and density. I have spent 6 days with the Pyramid VI and back and forth side-by-sides to try and truly get a handle on what is up here. I've done a few days of IEM comparisons and a single day of cable side-by-sides, so I at least feel I have done my due diligence to get a handle on the VI. I look down at the extra 2 wires and it is hard to believe, but it is real. The thing that is real is the sound of any Pyramid cable, there is just a fluid set of transients that takes place? At least that is how I hear the original and the VI, I haven't heard the Penon Pyramid VIII. There is a darker treble and not so silvery midrange that tells you it's perfectly fine to listen to an alloy instead of pure silver. This creates a clarity of sounds not so jumbled up with any IEMs.''

I'm also having a package gone "Bermuda triangle"...

Are you living in France like me @WB79 ?

Ordered Shock on September 29, here's the tracking info:

Even with the holiday week of October 1st, it's weird that tracking shows no progress.

Penon replied to my email on October 23 saying they would check with the HK post office. Silence since. I asked for an update yesterday night.
Shock received this afternoon! Thanks @Penon for sorting out the shipping glitch. Let the listening begin. :D

Ear-tips are like car tires:
Now just humor me for a few OK? I mean this is only roughly a concept where both ear-tips and car tires share certain points of interest. First off you are never going to fully understand your car's performance until you find the correct tires right? Same with IEMs. That in my last IEM ear-tip review. I talked about how you can spend the most money possible for the best DAP, get the very best cable to match your best IEM choice and still if the ear-tip is wrong you will never totally reach your goals. For some this goes with-out saying, but still we have many levels of readers here.

No, not this time. It happened on a previous order, though.

The Fan 3 seems a distant memory on this thread these days, but I'm giving them a big +1 still.

A knock out set of IEMS.

The topic of eartips comes up a lot lately so accepting your anatomy, comfort and taste are factors I've found these to be very good.

I ordered what I thought were medium but these seem smaller than I expected so I imagined they'd be a little bass light.

But they go comfortably deep enough to give a good seal so the IEM shell is in close contact with the inside of my ear. The bass sounds pretty good to me 😁

Whizzer Easytips.

FYI folks in the discovery thread still talk about this set almost daily.

Revised EBC80 is in hand and burning in. Out of the box, this tuning was quite different from the prior prototype, and indeed leans towards the Rival...will it be a mini Rival, only time will tell, but initial signs are encouraging! They are absolutely stunning in person, the faceplates go crazy in the light!

New Penon PAC LS Eeartips are a perfect match for the FF Duece with Cayin N7 & frankenTap1 cuts the bloat and tightens the mids and Treble plus they're the most comfortable eartips I've used.

Penon eartips are really leading in the comfort and sound shaping the PAC LS Eeartips are by far the best eartip I've experienced and I have over 100 different types

Agreed, these are fabulous and an excellent follow up to the Liqueur tips. They are now one of my 3 go-to tips.
