The rules are simple: name a headphone you own or have auditioned extensively, then present the single adjective you feel best describes the character of that 'phone. Please limit yourself to a single adjective. If the first that comes to mind has already been listed, please repeat it in your post. Keep extraneous chit chat (*ahem* football discussion, for instance) out, please.

I'll begin:
Grado SR-60: shrill
Grado SR-325: effortless
Sennheiser HD580: majestic
Sony V6: controlled
Sony V700: mushy
Sony E888: sweet
Sony EX70: dull

In the end, we should be left with a list of adjectives to describe most of the 'phones discussed around here. That wouldn't be much of a review, but I think this is an interesting (perhaps even fun) little challenge nonetheless

A single adjective doesn't really capture the essence of my phones... but if i think of them as women it's much easier.
:)

HD 25- alluring
KSC 35- playful
V700DJ - fantasy
HD600- seductive
K240DF- faithful

all those miscellaneous earbuds that came with walkmans, portable cd and md players - bitches!

It's difficult not to comment on other's one-word descriptions

Anyways...

Not all "adjectives" but rather the one word I would use to describe them.

Grado RS2: musical
Sennheiser HD580/HD600: music
(if there was one word that meant "not dark when properly amped," I would use that just because I see the term "dark" used to describe them -- inaccurately, IMO -- so often

)
Ety ER4S: dreamworld
Grado SR60: fun
Sony MDR-V6: examiner
Koss PortaPro: vise
Koss KSC-50: overachiever
Koss KSC-35: overachievest

Sennheiser RS60: returned
Sennheiser MX-500: convenient
