The Official Violectric V200 Owner's Club / Appreciation / Discussion Thread

This thread still alive?

Just bought a V200 that I have not yet received (yours Roskodan =).

I would really like the V800 too but I cant afford it at the moment. Now I have found a really cheap Arcam rDac ($150). How do you think that it will pair with the V200, until I find something better.

What other ~$300 dacs would be recommended for the V200?

I'm using the Denon LA5000 and the Hifiman HE500. Also planning to get the LCD 2.2 (again=).

Cheers!

@sebbaan

the active v200 thread is this one http://www.head-fi.org/t/551173/review-violectric-hpa-v200-amp

and v800 thread http://www.head-fi.org/t/574418/review-violectric-v800-dac

make sure u try the stock v200 jumper settings for planar hp (pot jumpers to AC and main ground jumper to LIFT)

first turn off and unplug the power mains cables and all the other cables as well

for the v800 one should first remove the metal cylinder of the volume pot and the nut underneath it, that holds the pot to the case,
then the two hex, upper left and right, screws on the front panel
then the four corners hex screws from the back panel
then slide the back panel (the pcb on which it's screwed on comes along) straight out about 5mm
then lift the upper cover starting from the back

for the v200 lift the two hex, upper left and right, screws on the front panel
then the four corner's hex screws from the back panel
then slide the back panel (the pcb on which it's screwed on comes along) straight out about 5mm (not more cos there's a patch cable holding the pcb to the pot and the front panel)
then lift the upper cover starting from the back

enjoy messing with all the configurable settings

v800 is great but make sure u get a nice cheap used one cos else it is overpriced to just try without being sure u like it XD

How warm is this amp compared to... Most tube amps?
I sold my WA6-SE, and look for a new amp. I dont really want a very warm up cause HD650 are already pretty warm toned.

I've been reading through the thread and found several comments on how balanced in sounds better than RCA in, however are there any official statements by Lake People regarding balanced in?
I'm interested because it doesn't have balanced out for headphones.
