Has anyone tried the K1000 on the V200?

My K1000 is on the way and I was wondering if my V200 will do the job? A friend of mine has tried the combo and she says the  V200 powers it but more than the power, it's about the right synergy. Any thoughts?

I guess you have the right connection gizmo 'cause AKG K1K terminates in 4-pin XLR if memory serves.

Also, I'm afraid you won't get enough juice.  They're 74 dB/mW or thereabouts.  I never heard them (unfortunately) but I know that my HE-6 doesn't really shine from the V200, and a HE-6 is (officially, I believe it's actually lower) 83.5.  Load of difference between 74 and 83.  A K1000 is a love or hate thing but if it's love then you'll never want to sell them again.  Hook 'm up to a speaker amp.

Connection is not an issue, I will put a new plug or make a pigtail.

That's not something I wanted to hear but sort of anticipated it. If the V200 disappoints I'll get the Graham Slee
Proprius Mono-Blocks. I really wish the V200 somehow drives it nicely, that will save me a lot of cash.

I use the HE1000 mostly on my V281 but in balanced. I did try the SE out, basically a V200, but that just wasn't the same level of sound.

  Really?
I haven't tested the V281 Unbalanced so I'm not sure how similar it is to the V200, how different is the V220 then?

Yes, I had the 100, bought the 200 and sold the 100, bought the V281 and sold the 200. There was no need keeping the 200. Haven't heard the V220 though

Have been listening to this combo and I have nothing bad to say, V200 drives the K1000 with serious power leaving some reserve.
Power aside, some serious fidelity. V200 is easily one of my favorite Amps of all time, so versatile, so perfect.

Now, THAT is an enigma to me as I'm positive that my HE-6 sound seriously better from my F5 and it's very much a power issue.  And the k1K are even less sensitive.  But if you're happy that's all that counts.  How do you like the cans?

Well, believe it man.
V200 is quite an amp, I'll give you more insight on the configuration -

V200 is at +12db, K1000 is at the farthest setting.
Even at the last setting (On the K1000) the V200 has more than enough power to drive them easily, in fact it powers the K1000 like its just a puny little headphone.

Sonic wise, it's a K1000. It sounds excellent. K1000 is genre specific though, due to coloration from 6-9kHz it can get peaky and sibilant with the wrong music. Bass is very linear, does lack extension but still better than I was expecting. K1000 is all about the imaging, I bought it for Soundstage only and its the best at that.

with he6 and i believe even more with the k1k, it's a must to try the v200 set to dc coupled and main ground lift to gnd

this v200 scales as much as one lets it go, v200 (dc, gnd) + hugo, wow wow holy cow that prat

V200 got some options, now in Silver and feet available in Silver, Black and Gold.

Cool but I'll be honest, V281 in Silver is more beastly than a V200 in Silver!

Looks really nice in silver. If I weren't considering selling my V200, I'd probably order the faceplate.
