  I don't think the FiiO X7 will stand up well to the 1Z.  The stock amp by itself is not even as good that of the ZX1 let alone the 1Z.  I can't say about other amp modules however.

I will be honest to you, to simply compare X7 to 1Z is just out of senses. Why ? Because they are not even in the same league or cost....now, comparing to AK380 or Copper will make more sense.

It's you that's not making any sense! Sony is charging $4500 blah blah just because of the gold plating, but how do they magically have a better DAC than the praised quad-pipeline ES9018S in the FiiO X7?? Everyone knows that price isn't always an accurate indicator of performance.
 
The "Oppo HA-2se" has a very high-end sound, and it uses the latest ES9028Q2M reference DAC, and yet the Oppo HA-2se costs only $299. 
 
Anyone who spends $4500 on the Sony will obviously argue in favor of their purchase, but that doesn't mean the FiiO X7 can't compete... others will tell you that the FiiO X7 sounds as good or better, you might have wasted money on the Sony, but if you're rich you won't care Lol. Confirmation bias will make you say it is head-&-heels above everything else, feel me?

dont know if there are store-fronts in germany that sell fiios but i will try my best to compare it against the WM1A (if accessory Jack deliver mine on time befor ei go)

I can't say for sure because the unit I had only have the AM1.  The AM1 wasn't any good and it fall short comparing to the ZX1 let alone the ZX2 or W1A or W1Z.
