I just signed up for Sennheiser's newletter to get the 10% discount. I got the discount, but it came with a disclaimer that excludes the following products: "AMBEO SMART HEADSET, CX 6.00BT, GSP 600, HD1 Free, HD 660s, HD 700, HD 800, HD 800 S, HD 820, HD 820, HDV 820, HDVD 800, IE 80 S, IE 800, IE 800 S and any discounted items." In other words, pretty much anything I was interested in using the discount to purchase.

Just an FYI.

Hi guys,

today i decided to take a spontaneous shopping trip to my hometown Stuttgart. And i returned with a sweet little pair of new iems :) Out of the box paired with my DX200 (amp3) they already sound really nice to my really really bad ears. Burn in is running now (100h) and i will see if they'll find a place between my beloved Vegas, Andros....and of course my Xelentos :) But i'm quite optimistic. What i don't like (besides the cable) are the ridiculously short nozzles. I love the spiral dots as i get perfect seal with em......useless here. I don't get the same seal with the delivered silicone tips and i'm not a fan of foamies.

Congratulations! Enjoy them. After all of the IEM's I have had and presently have the IE800S has found a place near the top of my faves list.

....did u have a good time with 'em ? U sell them just because u need money for your new endeavors or because they were just not what you are looking for ? :) Btw...i also consider to get some nice VE8 (actually i'm exactly in a decision phase ---> encore or VE8)

That’s money, customs are pricey can’t keep it all...and the fact that custom fit is just so much better.. especially with my big ear canal comfort and isolation is much improved. For the same reason I’ll be selling the LCD i4 and believe me it’s not because they’re not great either!

The IE800S are very good IEMs, I have had great time with them and they stack up great against much pricier competitors... I am a sucker for dynamic drivers, that bass, and those textures... the small footprint makes them a great universal, comfortable downside is isolation is not the best but that soundstage is really up there with the best. Very refined signature, compared to the IE800.

Gotcha! I'll go for my first customs soon. But yes....in past i always preferred 3 or 4 different iems in 1k cat instead of 1 or 2 for 2-3k :D it's time to rethink this practice.

Is anyone able to comment on how the IE800S fit compared to the IE80? I have the IE80, and while I like it, I simply cannot get a good fit with the included silicone tips. I get a better fit with Comply, but the SQ takes a dip. If the IE800S fits similarly, that could be a deal breaker for me. I already have the Shure SE846 and find the fit to be rock solid.
