in IE80S thread one owner is seriously disappointed for his buying ,

ie80s is something else entirely. I had ie8, heard ie80, I know where they are headed. They are something else entirely, might wear the Sennheiser brand, but they are not ie800 in any way, more like a good midrange IEM, ie800 is a true high end IEM. ie800S might make things better or not, but I doubt we should compare them :smile_phones:

I never placed ie80 next to ie800 simply because they aren't even remotely similar in any way :dt880smile:

Well they work and fit absolutely perfect on my pair of IE800, and comply advertises them for it as well on their website. They fit snug and have never come off for me. They saved the IE800 for me because the stock tips sucked and constantly fell out. I think they have a universal fit type of gel core or something.

Well the US site has a "coming soon" but here in Canada it's now a "buy now" but with an after tax sticker of almost $1470 Canadian I don't think I'll be pushing the button anytime soon.

Franky, my old IE800 served me well over the last years, but this design has since been surpassed by several competitors, and it's a bit deceiving to see Sennheiser just providing what looks to be just a little refresh. I recently migrated to the Audeze LCDi4: well, they cost more than twice as much as the IE800S, but they're on a completely different league.
