Agreed with both. Does the 325 exude energy? Yes, plenty, but is it harsh and unlistenable? No at all.

 
I got the 325is over the 225i because it didn't have the treblespikes i noticed in the 225i.
 
But again, if you are a HD600 kind of guy, than the 325is will probably become too much for you.
 
But there are moments i wish the 325is had even more energy...

To me the 325i was very much in your face no nonsense headphones....and with the right music....AC/DC for example.......I wanted more at times!

I'm not much of a purist, or even seasoned audiophile, but I've found the 325is with FIIO e12 amp + bass boost (around 5? @dB 100hz)  makes it very appealing.

  Are the latest Grado 325is still coming in the chrome finish? Or have they reverted back to the aluminum?

The 325is's don't come in either finish, they come in a sparkle gray, I own them.
 

They haven't come in chrome/aluminum for a long time due to too many people complainig about the inconsistencies in the finishes.
