Audio gd was really good with my T1.2. The Jotenheim was decent and you can find them cheap but I got a Burson ha160 and cannot believe how good they sound now. I listen to older rock and can listen for hrs with zero fatigue. Very addictive sound. I stepped up to the older Burson conductor with the 1793 dac and do not feel a need for a better amp.

I can stretch Max upto 500-550$.
Consider a powerful vintage receiver/integrated, their headphone outputs have higher impedance lending themselves well to the 600 ohm T1 and can be had for a fraction of what new dedicated headphone amps cost. Lots to chose from.
Full bodied, rich, thick, perfect prescription for the lean (and somewhat dryish) T1.

I second that suggestion. My T1s sound fabulous with my vintage Kenwood KA-8006 integrated amplifier, 70wpc (1974).

Thought to see if anyone would know - is there a dealer in North America carries T1 Gen1 Replacement pads? the EDT T1V
Thomann has some in stock but the shipping cost is high...
That's where I bought mine. If you want the original T1 pad, that's the only place to get it.

Fully agree with your synopsis. For those who complain about the T1.1’s treble peaks all they need to do is EQ the sound. I’m still baffled at times when I read so many posts about audiophiles who abhor EQ and deem it to be some sort of sacrilege. They would save a ton of money needlessly spent on supposedly better DACs or tweaks or ear pads, ad infinitum. But I digress. I use my T1.1 and DT 880/ 600 ohm w/ my vintage Kenwood integrated amp, 70wpc [1974] & a Loki mini+ and the sound is absolutely stunning. Just my two cents.
I'd go a step further and say that for those who complain about the T1.1's treble peaks they're completely missing the point of the headphone and what makes it special. They're edgy headphones and their treble peaks are what make them sound so damn exciting. That being said, I'd good source and amplification, in that cheap stuff tends to make high frequencies especially unbearable on any headphone.

Yup, on the right tube amp the T1 really shines!

I am in full agreement with Pirastro - Beyerdynamic absolutely nailed it with these on the 1st attempt.
They certainly did! I also purchased my T1 soon after they were released, and I still love them! That "silvery" edge is just so wonderful... I own #1408. What about you?

I've tried all three versions and kept gen 1 and 2. In my opinion the original is still the best.
