+1 for deep cleaning service. I sent my U12t in for deep cleaning and a broken pin in the socket and they did not charge me extra for removing the pin. I now have an a12t and plan to send it in just before the warranty expires for a just in case service.

Yeah, it is great that they have this service, and I’ve actually sent them in a couple of times in the past for accidentally broken mesh filters. Only bummer is that I have to go without these babies for about three to four weeks (do not mean for that to sound like 64 Audio takes a long time to repair things, they’re actually fabulous, I’ve been extremely happy with the service.) Just that I’m on the other side of the country so takes a little longer to get there and back.

Do IEM vacs help with something like that? Even if it’s like a whole thin layer covering? The cleaning tool usually works just fine if there are small pieces of wax or hair on top.

Without photos of the grime and wax crust:smile:, likely yes. Think of your kitchen floor brushing v suction different things, different approach

Try looking for deals on the "Jodi hearing aid vac". A lot of IEM brands, 64 incuded, put their name on the Jodi vac.

Except the wireless battery powered vac that 64 sell, that is 64's own creation.

I know, it was hard to get a good photo because the thing is so small, it either came out blurry or didn’t really display the problem well.

I also always thought those vacs were more for customs, not so much for mesh grilles

The vac comes with an assortment of nozzle attachments to suction clean debris all monitors.

Lime green nozzle perfect for mesh cover on uni's. The flexible / metal tube attachments are better for customs to get into the nozzle

I bought a used Tralusent 1+2 and I just got my vac so I was going over all my iem's. I looked at the thick mess of 1+2 and it looked clean but thought what the hell so I vaced it. Turns out it's actully a thin mess and once cleaned sounded a bit better. Vac's can make a difference. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

One of the best ways of seeing wax buildup, when it isn't obvious to the naked eye, is with a UV light. The wax will reflect bright white.

Alcohol is fine to use when generally cleaning your IEMs but it will most likely not breakdown the wax and remove it. Our repair time is closer to 2-weeks at the moment so we'd recommend sending them in for a deep cleaning when you can: https://www.64audio.com/products/deep-cleaning

I'd quote the return policy here but it's probably a bit too long. You can find it on your Terms & Conditions page here: https://www.64audio.com/pages/terms

We'd recommend trying to demo the IEMs at your nearest shop that carries 64 Audio products. It has become quite rare for us to send demos directly to customers.
Ok, understood, thanks for the reply. I'll try to take the chance the next time I'm near a physical dealer.

I only know the zeus xr, in my opinion the u12t is more reference sound sparkle but still smooth, so for me it would be a upgrade. But apart from that the ee zeus xr is still a very capable IEM

But that was for me the same as exchanging the fir m4, for a m5, they said small difference but for me it was huge.

I'd been thinking of getting a vac for a while; I've already had to send my u12t's back for a service after the cleaning brush knocked the mesh loose. I'm in the UK but bought them from a retailer in Germany and as they're still under warranty I sent them back there. It ended up a 10 week round trip going to 64Audio in the US via the retailer in Germany. It's only been 6 months since then but I used a UV light as suggested, and they're pretty dirty! So, I've bought a VAC Pro and all its done is knocked the mesh out _again_. I'm really annoyed, I was extremely gentle but the mesh is just too fragile. Now I'm £300 out of pocket for VAC I won't dare use again and the IEM's will have to go back out for a service.

I just got my Volur back to re-attach the mesh screen when it got knocked out using the included cleaning tool! I was thinking of getting the vac in a month or two.

For whatever its worth... the AZLA SednaEarfit MAX standard tips have a little mesh inside that completely blocks wax and debris, at least they do for me. I was having similar issues with the u12t until I started using them.

i defintely wouldn't recommend it for IEMs with a mesh lol. I can still see some wax with the UV light on the mesh that's now sitting almost sideways in the tube. if anything i thought the vac might help keep the mesh in place with the suction
