Is there an option for IPX connector for 64audio UIEM? or just the CIEM has the IPX option in the moment?

Hi all, I’m new to this thread but haven’t seen any comments on a specific question I have regarding the U12T and its apex modules.

This UIEM is near the top of my wish, list but I’m wondering to what extent the modules affect (reduce) isolation for exterior noise or even wind (walking outdoors, cycling, in a car with the windows rolled down). I wonder if the ports generate wind noise or whistling in these use cases. I totally understand that 64audio is a “ professional tool” brand, but isolation is kind of high on my list. Like ss1ruxx, the Mest Mk2 is also high on my list if anyone can speak to it’s isolation properties.
Just to note that any IEM with a dynamic driver (either Hybrid or solo) will always have a vent for air equalisation. These vents are always significantly affected by wind, moreso than an all balanced armature set.

We only offer 2-pin for our UIEM lineup with the exception of the Aspire 4.
Has there been any thought to utilizing a better connection? I know 2-pin is by far the most prevalent in the industry, but it's really not that great and it feels like paying a thousand or more dollars for IEM's that the actual important connector part should be higher quality. I will say my Volur have good 2 pin connectors, compared to others, but I've still had them get loose.

Considering other connection types can be tricky. For us it basically comes down to weighing durability against compatibility. 2-pin is pretty ubiquitous, so changing to another connector type would be limiting the compatibility our UIEMs have with the cables that our customers already have and like to use them with. So rather than changing the connector type we have put more effort into improving the durability of our 2-pin connectors.

Of course this doesn't rule out the possibility of changing the connector type in the future, but at present this is the decision that we think best serves our customers and our production and repair teams.

We'd like to know more about your Volür 2-pin coming loose if you could dm us.

More broadly speaking, the foregone conclusion that the 2-pin connector system is generally inferior to others is arguable. We, of course, have continued to utilize it in our high-end products and have even invested into redesigning it from the ground up to perform better for our UIEM products. Obviously there are objectively better connector systems but they're all size-prohibitive, and other connectors with a suitable form-factor for UIEMs have their own drawbacks.

U12t/A12t was debut in 2017. Will it be a good choice to order 1 now in the year of 2024 where there are many new competitors especially the Chi-fi IEMs.
There are many models being introduced to market continuously but, aside from catering for personal preferences or being the fashion of the moment, very, very few are so good to to be actually a professional standard and remain unmatched overtime. U12t is one of these..
U12t has been for many years at the top of my preference list (together with Fourte) ..

I guess this is my chance to try again,.

If you own the U12t's or Odin's I DARE YOU TO CUT WITH SCISSORS EXACTLY 1/16th INCH OFF THE STEM OF A PAIR OF W-1's AND PUSH THEM ALL THE WAY ON. Push them past the workings inside. It will go on to within 1/16 of an inch of the end of the W-1's

I am telling you strait up you will not believe what it does to EVERYTHING. Opens the soundstage and makes it HUGE. It opens up the top end that sparkles. It also keeps all the bass that punches hard. It makes the iems not stick out, especially the 12t's. They will fit flush with your ear now. Lastly, I find that a deep seal is not as good as shallow which makes the sound stage even wider. WIDER THAN THE $300.00 BOX OF ALL THE TIPS I'VE PURCHASED. I have almost every one of the good ones.

I deplore you please someone try this and report back. YOU WILL BE AMAZED !!
I have the AK SP1000, Sp 2000, Sp 3000 that I did the test.with.

If someone doesn't do it I will send them out FREE. I bought 34 pair of Mediums that i got for 2.50 a pair on ebay. Hey they took my offer what can I say. lol. P.S. I am not new here I have been here for over 24 years !!
.
I could believe that. Curious if anyone else had tried this, yet. If I still had my U4s, I sure would.

If i understand the mod correctly, there are wide, shallow fit tips on the market so I can believe someone has positive results from modding with scissors. Thing is that ears are different so people tip roll. Or get customs.

You can conveniently find all of our domestic and global resellers on this page: https://www.64audio.com/pages/dealers
Great, thank you! On the website I saw the fit guarantee and warranty information, is there a general return/refund window on the universals or customs? (another forum member had mentioned this as a possible way to demo before fully committing to a purchase).

I'd quote the return policy here but it's probably a bit too long. You can find it on your Terms & Conditions page here: https://www.64audio.com/pages/terms

We'd recommend trying to demo the IEMs at your nearest shop that carries 64 Audio products. It has become quite rare for us to send demos directly to customers.

Still loving my U12t after almost 3 years (wow!)

Need some advice though. The mesh on the left IEM of my pair looks like it has a thin layer of wax covering it almost completely, and it looks like it’s kind of molded into the mesh rather than above it. So despite best efforts using a cleaning tool, both brush and the little metal spoon/wire loop, it won’t come off.

I’ve been noticing more and more lately that the sound coming from them is beginning to seem just a tad muffled, and the treble air that I’m so familiar with sounds a little more truncated. I’m also having to raise the volume a little bit than I normally would.

They still sound good otherwise but not quite like I’m used to them sounding. I assume it’s because of the wax covering the mesh, so is there any good way of clearing it out? I was thinking maybe q-tip with a small amount of rubbing alcohol, holding the IEM upside down, but then I worry about the liquid getting into the IEM. Any other suggestions?
