Hi guys,
this is my first post... I'm writing from Italy and It's been more or less 10 years since I'm reading this forum.

Now I would like to know if someone of you already tried some of these Chinese Drivers that can easily be bought from Aliexpress, and if someone had the chance to compare them to other more popular drivers.

This threads been pretty quiet. Glad to see someone still looking t drivers out there :).

I haven't tried any of those, but I like that the third comes with grills you can mount over the diaphragm.

Hi Crim, welcome.
Like @fleasbaby I haven't tried any of those drivers but they seem to be quite different in size and Ohm (230ohm, which is a bit on the higher side) ratings which might make it a bit harder to drive from smart phones and lower power DAPs.

Hi DavidA, thanks
To drive them I actually use a custom made amp, so it is not a big deal. Currently I also drive the Nhoord and the Turbulent X with this amp, and the difference with/without it's quite huge.
So the impedence it is not a real problem. Also I'm designing cups and holder that can hold 40-45-50mm drivers, but i would like to find something a cheaper than the main drivers, with a decent overall quality.
Also because I find the Turbulent a little bit lacking of basses, and the Nhoord a too boomy on the lower end.
I mean, both of them are fantastic drivers, but I would like to play, test and find something different

Think about cannibalizing a pair of Koss KSC75 or a pair of Koss Sportapro for their drivers. Both drivers play well with wooden cups.

Judging by your post above you might find the Sportapro too bassy, but before you pass on it try it with G Cush pads.

I tryied with the KSC75, actually they were the first driver I tested before buying a pair of TurbulentX, but I was not so satisfied. Maybe I will try looking again for something used and give them again a try.

Maybe this? https://it.aliexpress.com/item/32810987307.html?spm=a2g0y.12010612.8148356.4.19124ada1YyJYL

You might want to try some sorbothane on the Nhoord driver magnet structure and dynamat in the cups that you are using to help control the boomy low end. I'm assuming you haven't opened any vent holes on the driver as this will really make the Nhoord boomy

Hi DavidA, you're right. I did no do any mods on the driver, which had already two small holes on the "metal" part of the driver, and other two on the outsider circle.
I was thinking to try the Dynamat, actually I'm waiting for it from Amazon and also I was thinking to use some extra-magnet on the center piece.
By the way, I added 4 vent holes on the Turbulent and I was expecting much bigger difference to be honest. More bass, more sub-low but nothing "game changer" from my point of view. I will try also to dynamat the cup in which I'm using the Turbulent, which is in a light-type wood.

Awhile back I was lucky to have a prototype driver from Nhoord and one thing I noticed was that it had dynamat around each of the 4 opened vent holes which made it produce a slight but noticeable better low end, not sub-bass level but better than mid-bass IIRC (its been over 3 years that I've had the drivers). I haven't heard a Turbulent driver in quite some time but I do remember most were a touch on the bass-lite side while the Magnums 7 and 8 were better but still not quite as good as the Ypsilon G1, S2 or original S1 (still have these). I'd also go with @fleasbaby recommendation on using G-cush, either OEM ($45/pair) or generic ($5-6/pair but QC very bad so I buy 4-5 pairs from different vendors and hope that I get 1 or 2 pairs that are decent and if I need more I will quickly order from the vendor that has pads that I liked)

To be clear regarding the "dynamat around holes": Do you mean something like this?

I was also curios about the Ypsilon driver... any notice confronting them with Nhoord?
I tryied both L-Cush and G-Cush, and honestly i slighty prefer the G-Cush on Nhoord, and probably L-Cush on Symphones and Turbolent

Thanks again
