SURPRISE....SURPRISE...

What is in this little ruggedized case ?

Our " precious " of course...

Everything fitted inside: my RWAK100 (soon upgraded to a RWAK-120-S with dual DAC chip and a "real" line-out), but also my TH-900 Fostex, my Tube Amp TU-05, it's charger & cables.  Everything for an Audiophile transportable solution.

the case, PERFECT fit for the TH-900, is NOT a pelican case but made by :

Wow what a setup! I am very impressed, perfect for the beach!

Your RWAK120 isn't that for a single DAC? Now with -S moniker, you'll be the envy of everyone on the beach. :D

Be careful with tube amp you don't want to have it tan your skin darker than the sun. :p

Hey B what's a RWAK-120-S?  I know what a RWAK 100-s is, is RWA doing the same thing with the 120?

Vinnie will do indeed. see here on his facebook page he says :" RWAK120-S is more of an improvement than I thought it would be. I just returned from another audio show and will be catching up this week, but then will be getting RWA120 details on our website. Until then, feel free to email be about details and pricing."

Wow so soon, last time I talked to Vinnie, he was looking into possibly modding the AK120 with double wm8741 dacs. Time flies
Now we are talking, this will be the best setup one can find with first class Wolfson dacs, hope someone will tap the DSD functionality through firmware though, that would complete the picture!

Tried the official 2.10 FW.
Rolled back to 1.33+ Listrid patch. I don't know, but I like the "fleshy" sound more (both with Shure SE535ltd-J and ATH-ESW9).
I do not really need the USB-DAC function, I'd better buy a full-sized DAC.

Just started to listen to my AK100S with amp again after nearly a month.......The EQ needs to be switched on but maintain at flat so it is lowered by 4db in the digital domain(?) in order to eliminate some clipping. Also one needs good quality mastered music files preferable 24/96-192.

I have forgotten how good the AK100S was. It is incredible, sonically!!

Hey guys,

A few questions....

First...does anyone have a link to that knob protector in gold? Looks good.

Second...I'm on firmware 2.10...I put Listrid on but couldn't get the iRiver crappy software to "see" the unit...
So I re-did the stock firmware 2.10 again and it saw it just fine. I thought I read somewhere that if you go down a step in stock FW and then put the listrid fix on.everything works...is this true?

Not sure what you mean by "see the unit", but Listrid FW is really just a 'patch', so your boot screen will only show the ID of the iriver FW that's in your unit regardless of any Listrid FW you install after/over it. As long as you get the "loading new FW" message after you put the Listrid .hex file in your top directory you are presumably running the Listrid OK.
