Hello Head-Fi!
It’s a great time to be an audiophile, with countless options for playing high-fidelity tracks away from your main rig. These days, however, your main rig might be your portable setup, too. To further your quest for detailed sound everywhere, today we’re announcing an addition to our compact in-ear family—the IE 300. This earphone brings a unique blend of balance and body to the table for total immersion in the groove, all while highlighting the audiophile qualities of your component chain. We applied a host of acoustic principles to supercharge a refined edition of our 7mm XWB transducer so that your IE 300 packs a punch with every device you connect it to.
The Heartbeat of the IE 300
At the core of each IE 300 earpiece is our dynamic Extra Wide Band (XWB) 7mm transducer, revered for its acoustic performance in a deceivingly compact package. New for the IE 300, it features a new blend of materials in the diaphragm to improve its rest-and-response times for greater accuracy throughout the frequency spectrum. The XWB transducers reproduce sound that is completely unique to the Sennheiser audiophile legacy—in fact, they are developed and manufactured to exacting precision at our world-class facility in Germany.
IE 300 features:

Air Traffic Control
A key element of the IE 300’s performance is the back-volume—a miniature room-within-a-room that helps control the flow of air behind the transducer. The direction and overall volume of air is precisely managed as it traverses the transducer system for discernibly defined bass- and mid-range response. Further, we observed a natural increase in the ear canal’s resonant frequency when sealed by an ear tip adapter, producing a masking effect that obscured critical details within the source signal. A frequency absorbing resonator chamber was applied to unearth those subtle (but important) nuances once again.
These technologies work together with the XWB in perfect harmony so that transients are lifted, vocals retain their silky character, and bass notes are communicated with definition AND thrust. Of course, the IE 300 is a sealed headphone, so 3 sizes of silicone and memory foam ear adapters are included to maximize noise isolation and intended bass response.

The IE 300’s detachable cable fuses swappable convenience with the capability to survive daily use away from home. It features gold-plated Fidelity+ MMCX connectors, each seated within a recessed, 4.8mm-wide socket below the surface of the housing. This yields improved strain relief and stability over standard MMCX connectors—especially when combined with the cable’s para-aramid reinforcement which is rated for thousands of bend cycles. A stereo 3.5mm plug is standard—balanced 2.5mm and balanced 4.4mm terminated cables will be available at a later date (we’ll keep you in the loop). On the move, it all fits inside the included protective rigid carrying case.

This new earphone will be available to purchase first in Japan, Singapore, and South Korea on January 19th, China on February 1st, and globally in March, 2021. We will provide further updates as soon as possible, right here. For more information including pricing visit http://www.sennheiser.com/ie-300. We are excited for you to give it a listen!
