Now here's a treat for your ears:

http://ubu.artmob.ca/sound/komar_mel...wantedSong.mp3

"The most unwanted music is over 25 minutes long, veers wildly between loud and quiet sections, between fast and slow tempos, and features timbres of extremely high and low pitch, with each dichotomy presented in abrupt transition. The most unwanted orchestra was determined to be large, and features the accordion and bagpipe (which tie at 13% as the most unwanted instrument), banjo, flute, tuba, harp, organ, synthesizer (the only instrument that appears in both the most wanted and most unwanted ensembles). An operatic soprano raps and sings atonal music, advertising jingles, political slogans, and "elevator" music, and a children's choir sings jingles and holiday songs. The most unwanted subjects for lyrics are cowboys and holidays, and the most unwanted listening circumstances are involuntary exposure to commercials and elevator music. Therefore, it can be shown that if there is no covariance--someone who dislikes bagpipes is as likely to hate elevator music as someone who despises the organ, for example--fewer than 200 individuals of the world's total population would enjoy this piece."

I don't know... It sounds a little like Beck featuring Kate Bush to me.

The most unwanted song is more enjoyable listening than the most wanted one. Theres been a couple of threads abotu these.

The most unwanted song is certainly one that I've made.

Sorry mate, didn't find the former threads with my search skillz. But yeah, the unwanted song is quite good, while the wanted one is horrible.

The kids singing about holidays and Walmart puts a smile on my face every time.

There is little correlation between something being popular and something being actually good. This we already knew, and these tracks are just a practical demo.

Cult cinema! Captain Beefhart! Autotune! McDonalds! It's all there...

Its funny, because some of my favorite songs are over 25 minutes and a lot of my favorite music features both accordions and bagpipes.

I thought the most unwanted songs were sung by YOKO ONO.

Unless the entirety of this is Nickelback I'm sure it won't be too bad. :P

I must say, I've gotten quite a bit of enjoyment out of this. It's certainly not something I'd normally dive into (it's weird and tongue-in-cheek, let's all be honest), but I can most certainly appreciate it for it's purpose and as a stand-alone work of art.

Incidentally, sonically it isn't too bad either, considering it's purpose. I ripped it with Audio Hijack Pro at a meager 128kbps and it holds up quite well, for compressed, streamed audio.

woah! This is some funny stuff. I can think of way worse music to listen to, not that I'm gonna put this on the top of the ol' playlist or anything. It's stuff like this that make the internet and this forum so great!
