Hi, what do you think is the best mp3 player for reference audio listening?
im currently using a d2 as my source. i read some reviews that says that other players like ipod and zen are much more flat and clean.

its important to me because i use a headphone amp.

an amp may flatten the Cowon D2; otherwise, you could get bass rolloff with low impedance cans.

The only DAPs with a true line out that are currently in production are Ipods unfortunately. There are other brands that have line out but only through a docking station such as Sony and Sansa.

Yeah he means DAP headppone out to Amp Line In. It's pretty flat so it pairs well with amps.

if the sansa would read flac files it would be probably a top pick for me.
too bad...
do you know any other mp3 players that can read loseless formats exept the cowon players...? btw ,i heard that the ipod can do that and it has also a true line out! so it makes an interesting alternative

The clip plays FLAC, OGG in the latest firmware revisions and WAV

I hope I am not sounding like an used car salesman. But it is only $20 (refurbished)
